View Full Forums : New UI fix for Celestial Essence

Just thought I'd share for the tradeskillers out there. As many of you may have noticed, they *fixed* the new UI so that those who can't improve in a skill can't use the new tradeskill UI in that skill. Effectively what that meant was that no class except for rogues could make Celestial Essences (a very common ingredient in many recipes) with the new UI.

Seems the developers recognized this as a problem and are going to fix it. :)

Thanks for the info on this one, guys.

With the trouble we had with Tinkering, it was decided that you wouldn't be able to use the new UI if you couldn't gain skill in the appropriate skill for that container. In the case of Mortar and Pestle, that's poison-making.

Now, since only rogues get PoisonMaking, that means only they would be able to use the new UI to make Celestial Essences. This was an unintended side effect of the "fix".

Maddoc is now reviewing the case, to decide what should be done. I'll let him get with you guys about what he's doing, but rest assured we know about it, and want everyone to be able to use the new UI for CE's.

I've devised an evil plan to take care of this

Actually, it's pretty simple, and not at all evil. I'm just going to move all the recipes from a mortar and pestle to a mixing bowl. That should take care of the concerns with not being able to make them with the new UI.

Too bad that doesnt fix the issues with quest/key combines that are made in containers that nobody has a skill in... /sigh.

Supposedly the quest combine fix will be going in along with this change in the next patch. Bad news is there is no ETA on the patch, and it looks like it will be next week at the earliest. :curse:

Gah, why not just put CE on a vendor?

It's only there for the timesink. That's why they will keep it there.

/sigh

This still not in. I hate making CE. I wish they would put them on a vendor for 2 plat each. I would only buy about 5000 of them and store them on a mule for future use.

LOL. Even that wouldn't last me too long. Just made almost 900 of them yesterday doing the minor sub-combines for MC Sickles.

It's too bad things like this exist. When you know it is there to be a time-sink and nothing else, it gets very discouraging....and painful!

Haha I already pay much more than 2 plat in bazaar for these things because I have enough damn combining to do without adding to it!

Playing on Test Server full time, I get to go through every bug first and then some

/petition Hello! This is Kuu's alt and for some reason Kuulei and Ashenrose are missing from character select screen

From crashing to desktop at every move, to actually missing my 65 druid on character select and even zoning to enter a zone stripped of all gear. Containers not working at all and even combines poofing entirely or being "invisible" until placed in inventory, we see it all.

We work hard to pass on info via /bug and /feedback yet some get through on the patches to my fellow druid's (and other classes of course) on the live servers but some squeek by

Hope they patch the latest bugs soon!
