A new event started last week in Horizons. The ancient Elven city of Feladan has been covered in Blight for decades (the Blight is the result of the Withered Aegis controlling an area). It is a hauted place full of undead nasties, storms and foul mists.

This event allows players to rebuild 5 Ethereal Substantiators which are machines that coalesce the Blight into a Wraith-form which can be slain (they are very high level of course). Once all 5 machines are rebuilt, the undead clear out and some NPCs start showing up to rebuild the town.

Shadow (my server) hasn't completed the machines yet, as we're still working to complete the final Satyr mine, but another server has completed them and they say the NPCs have shown up now and are working in the area. The Blight is slowly receding as well.

Just another example of how players can change the world in Horizons :)

How dare you have a game where people work together and have fun!

They should be mindlessly slaughtering one another!

;)

*sighs* I'm gonna have to get Horizons. This is just fun sounding.

Download and try out the 7-day trial first. There are aspects that people absolutely hate about this game, so you may want to "try before you buy".

As far as I know you can keep your character if you decide to play past the 7 day period.

Ok, an interesting twist to this event now. A Diseased Elf appeared in Feladan and is infected with a plague that is now spreading throughout the empire. If you get it you will eventually die it appears and it spreads from player to player through close contact.

Players are searching desperately for a cure... dragons seem strangely immune...
