Hey,

I downloaded this little proggie from microsoft called "Compatibility Administration Tool". There's an options to enable ALT-TAB while in Everquest, BUT, while zoning in, say, eq_instance_1, the mouse is disabled for eq_instance_2. Is there a way to fix that, or maybe another way to enable ALT-TAB while in Everquest?

thanks,
DrSlick

Nah, just dont switch instances while zoning. Or, when done zoning, alt-tab back and forth, then hit the release mouse key combo a few times till you get it back.

But basically just dont swap while zoning.

Alt+Tabing outta EQ was enabled a long time ago. Alt+Enter puts EQ in windowed mode, then you hit Alt+shift+R to unlock the mouse to minimize EQ, you dont need a program to get outta EQ anymore.

Alt+Tab still doesn't really work with EQ. Even in windowed mode. You have to release the mouse, minimize the app, then open up whatever it was you wanted to Alt+Tab out for. And every time you want to leave EQ, you have to release the mouse to do so. I wish they could make the mouse work without releasing it every time.

That's actually a limitation of DirectX, and a legacy of the ancient engine that EQ uses. Hopefully when they switch to DirectX9 they can enable a true hardware cursor that's not tied to the framerate of the rendering engine... although that may require overhauling the EQUI system as well...

Anyway, we'll see!
