Tarew Marr emergency downtime
02/29/2004 11:56 AM

We have run into some hardware difficulties on the Tarew Marr server. We are working a quickly as possible to bring the server back up, however the ETA is about 9:00pm PST. We apologize for this inconvenience.

At least my computer broke too so I have something to do while we've been down for the past 19 hours.

What bothers me is that their Server Status (http://eqlive.station.sony.com/support/server_status.jsp) page never changed; it continued to show TM as "UP" (and still shows as "UP" almost a full day after the crash).

I guess that page is just eye candy for potential customers and corporate execs to feel assured that SOE's servers are reliable. If so, the page doesn't need to reflect reality ... it is working as intended. :)

Yup, ever since that page was changed so that the number of people on each server doesn't show up it hasn't worked correctly. It's pretty much worthless.

If you wanna know if your server is up and can't it on EQ to do it, find a shareware program called Neotrace and then find your servername, Fennin Ro's is fenninro.everquest.com. Also the login severs are eqlogin1.989studios.com, 2, 3, and 4. Dunno if that helps but I do know that server status page is worthless.
