Hi,

has anyone experience if it is possible to root/dot in Kod'Taz? Any preferred places / mobs?

Ummm, I havent seen any spots in that zone I particularly feel like even trying to solo.

/shiver 1000+ hitting faster than run3 that see invis mobs with no graveyard.

I've not soloed but have test duoed with a wiz a little there. It's just that for the experience gained, the risk isn't worth it really. We didn't kill enough to get a pattern down, but it appears that there isn't one particular mob that summons, but rather a randomness to it. Casters are the easiest because they have the least HPs but getting a single can be tough. Most of the MoBs don't see through invis but watch out for the dogs and some casters. There are a few open, unpopulated corner areas that might be workable for kiting and root DoT but we pulled ours to the lower ramp of the zone. Snare and root worked on all the MoBs we tried, but we only tried a few. If however, snare doesn't work on your chosen MoB I highly recommend running like HELL or hitting exodus.

I see quite a few groups there from time to time but I don't think it will ever be a soloers paradise. :/

Most don't see inv? I think there are quite a few that do..

*Most* mobs do not see invis. Archer dudes and Snake women (to name a couple) are ones that do see invis.

I've solo'd Kod'Taz, however, the risk vs reward/exp/etc. is not worth the hassel - which others have already stated.

Ok from what I know snake women see inv, archers see inv, Trusik see inv. Think there was one or two more possibly

Don't think all the Trusik see inv though.

in Kod'Taz :

Ukun (the human looking dogs) see invis (but not when they are pet of a Matrsuq).

Kiv (the archers) see invis.

Ikaav (snake ladies) see invis.

all named, of course, seems to see invis.

Mastruq ( the orc-looking football players) dont seem to see invis

Ra'Tuk ( the big grey giant with the mean looking axe) dont seem to see invis.

Noc ( the demon looking thing, "cant find a better description") dont seem to see invis.

Aneuk ( the hellraiser guy, with the cranes fetish) dont seem to see invis.

Pixxt (pxet?) (the goat ladies) dont seems to see invis.

cragbeast (the lizards) dont seem to see invis.

I dont recall if Hynid (the ~hyenas) see invis or not in this zone.

Note: that this seems to not apply near the temple with the zone to Ikkinz trials as some of those NPC seems to gain see invis capacity near there.

well it's possible since a shaman in my guild did it (root/dot)... but shrug i still haven't tried it... and some mobs are immune to snare.

I've done it, but they have too many hp and not enough EXP. That and it's a bitch to get singles and dodge the wanderers. Not worth it other then to just say you have.

Can kite at the bottom of the ZI ramp. Some mobs DO summon (random) so make sure you have exodus up. Yard trash can very very rarely drop some nice Upper Elemental/Lower Time level gear. Archers can snare you and run at selo's speed. Can be handled with snare but if they catch you ... You die.

Root didn't hold for very long so I went with snare and shoot.

Soloing in Kod'taz is easy. Mobs have a very small aggro radius, adds are not a problem. If a wanderer is getting too close, we can harmony there. (I usually solo in middle of the zone). Sometimes pathing is very screwy and mobs summon to you, just avoid rocks and hills. Risk vs. reward ? It is 6-7% AA a kill, that isn't much but soloing there is fun and that is reward enough. Some mobs summon, some are not snareable, but it's still fun.

I've solod a bit there but like most others don't think it's worth the risk/reward.

Like everyone has been saying. Yes it is fully possible to solo there. Which answers the original question. But the time and risk involved is absolutely not worth it. You can solo much easier at 65 in alot of other places for exp with little or no risk.

You'll end up making alot of other players unhappy (or fellow guildies if your guild is only one on server) when something goes bad and you run to zone.

I tried it. near Yxtta zone. But I indeed died a few times. Once on adds and a few times when a respawn with the very exact same name was suddenly summoning.
Considering we are getting blocked from EPs, this little chance for random drops was all too tempting.

Yes you can solo, no it is not worth it. If you try it, bear in mind that the mobs you snare will be signifigantly faster than you are used to, even snared. Root, even the mana free legs root, is a waste of time, it just doesnt last long enough. Snare one, run and nuke, repeat till its dead. I managed to kill two at once when a harmony failed, but I would not reccomend it. Usually add = death here. Also resists are different here. Even with Hand in, you still get Summer's flame bounced sometimes.

My bigest complaint about Kod Taz is that after working hard to get there, (I'm not guilded atm) I can't ever get a group there, as everyone brings there own. So the zone is kind of wasted on me at the moment. :(

The reason you bring you own group is you wanna win if you are planning on entering the expeditions. These trials are NOT easy. Can't just throw together the lfgs and expect to win. Naturally, you look into your own guild first, for experience (raid together, you know how things run), gear (all should be relatively equal in level of gear) and skill (they are your guildies, so you shouldnt have to question that bit ....not here to argue about the actual skill)

A kodtaz run can take ya a few hours to upwards of 6 hours for a single group to win. And that doesn't even guarantee a win. You really dont want to do any random pickups.

As for just single group exp trash killing in the zone. Alot less picky about who to choose for group makeup. Rarely any /ooc LFG... if any at all there. Maybe in the future tho.

Yes you can solo, no it is not worth it.

To the contrary, where else can you pick up something like the Reflective Orb of Energy while soloing?

Reflective Orb of Energy

Slot: RANGE

I got that drop on the third mob I solo killed in Kod. Hard to beat that anywhere else. Sure, I wouldn't waste time if you're looking for XP, but then, I head to Tables for that.

Would anyone say that Soloing in Yxtta is possible? That random earring drop is pretty nice... an upgrade to my Karana's Tear.

Yes, I would say that it is possible. Because, of course, I've done it....
