Healing is always springing up as a topic here, so I was thinking:
What if we had a new and interesting alternative?

Main Idea:
Short Duration buff that doubles your Dodge capability. Buff duration would be in the order of 1 or 2 ticks. Either a spell or an AA ability.

Possible supplemental components:
+500 AC
+50 Agi
+small pulse of actual HP heal

Of course it would all need to be balanced, but it may look something like this -
Spell: Lightning Agility
1: Dodge mod +100%
2: +500 AC
Short Buff Slot: Yes
Mana: 600
Target Type: Group v1
Cast Time: 5 seconds
Recast Time: 24 seconds
AE Range: 100
Duration: 2 ticks

With group members being hit less we would have more time to land spot heals. It would be ideal to use as a low aggro starter spell on incoming mobs.

We have seen other classes receive unique mitigation abilities like this in EQ's history, why not Druids?
Clerics - Death Pact & Divine Intervention (plus AA's to make them better), Vie line, DvA
Wizards - Spellshield
Int Casters - Reflect line

Realistically I don't know if we're ever going to get something as unique as this; but one can wish. It would be nice to have something new to play with. Has anyone dreamt up other cool ideas? :D

For a long time i've played with the idea of making our DS reflective or ablative, so that having druid DS on would not only do damage to the mob attacking, but prevent damage to the player. Either on a straight 1:1 scale (ie shield of bracken would reduce all incoming hits by 40, reflecting the damage back at the attacker) or add a rune component to the DS (somewhat like WotW only useful, though a bulwark style % rune is probably more realistic)

I think this idea of Alueaeia is a great one... But don't know if they would ever implement it... that damage could really add up over a long fight.

If you have a copy of the original manual that came with EQ.. Look up what a druids primary stat is according to Verant. I created my first druid based on their discription which said that AGI was our primary stat..... A week later at the advice on the boards from the hard core druids it decided that our primary stat was Wis and not Agi so eventually started over with a Wis based druid....

Rather than create a spell that affects a "Skill" such as Dodge, Why not just make Dodge/defense/channel modified by Agility like it is supposed to be and create an Agility buff (since it is suppose to be our primary ability).

Then make the AA Agility skills actually work.. What a consept.. Combat Agility actually helping you stay alive....
