View Full Forums : Buff bug in PoWater?

Since DX9 has been put on the Live Servers, I went to PoWater 2 times, for raiding. Both times, there has been strange occurences. I would cast pot9 on someone who was asking me for it, and I would get the "buff has held" message, but the person was asking me for pot9 again 30 seconds later : the person never got it.

Last night, during a fight, MGB sotw was fired and about half the raid never got it (yes they were in range). Peeps would be rezzed, EB or DMF would be cast on them, the caster would get the "buff has held" message, but the toon would drown. A puller would fire off DA, actually see the icon in his buff window, but get the message "spell didnt hold" and die.

Not to mention the still incredibly frustrating collision system, with mobs and toons that still warp, become invisible and fall under the world (it's better than before last patch, but it's still happening)

Anyone had similar experiences?

Heh ... Sounds like a water boundery problem. Maybe if someone is touching a wall, they are counted as outside the water.

Good thinking. Will ask the guild to watch for that. I'll let you know if it helps.

we have a winner, that is exactly what it is. PoWAter is soooo screwed since DX9, first day after patch if you touched any wall you got ported to zone. I would avoid that zone at all costs if able :)

Easy way to get it fixxed. If your archers are touching a wall, they can't get hit by AE's ~_^

Huh. My guild just got Coirnav down, first kill, a couple days ago, well after dx9 went live. We didn't have any problems at all with buffing, walls, etc.

Yaw,

We just did Cornaiv the other night and had zero problems with it.

But I do know what your talking about, recently I have been asked for 9, cast it, get the won't take hold message, and the person will swear up and down they don't have on Virchoo, Pally Virchoo, and Bo9. Sony really has made this week and a half not worth my time to log in.

I've had the buff problem happen to me in Water. I saw focus take hold but didn't have the icon or the hps. I relogged and then had the buff icon and the stats.

I've heard others have this happen to them too.

Happened to us in Water as well. Only solution we've found is to tell the recipient of the Nines buff that didn't take hold to camp and come back and then they see the buff and its effects, or it can be cast on them. :(

I had not made the connection with mgb woody though, but now that it was mentioned, I think the same happened. I just thought one of our druids messed up on the mgb cast, but it could have been the same bug.

Mostly we have had the problem of not being able to get po9 or symbol or virtue to take hold til someone camps and that fixes the "buff bug" but this happens in other zones than powater (although it seems to happen there more often). I have no idea what's going on when that happens. Person can be practically buffless, have no DoT and still can't get any hps buffs to take on him.
