Searching for a parser that will identify and then collate/export lines with those words to a seperate text file. Everything Ive found thus far has been for fights mostly.

Try Wingrep - http://www.wingrep.com/

As long as you can structure a search to identify the lines you need, wingrep will search (on multiple files if you require), and present you will the results which can then be saved to a textfile.

Only midly irritating thing I've found with it is that when it saves the text file, it includes at the start of each line the line number from the original file - pretty easy to strip out though if you need.

Specifically I just want a program that I can type words/phrases or name/s in for and will then take all lines out including that entry, extract and collate them to a seperate file organized by timestamp. Just an easy way to keep track of conversations with certain people. I have files extending back ~2 years when I started keeping log on full time so its several hundred megs worth of logging.

I'll start working on it... eqwatcher or something similar probably already does it.. but hey it'll be a fun little project

Cool stuff, thats awesome! Wingrep was pretty decent, thanks for that one. The one thing that its really lacking aside from inability to collate by timestamp is that theres no way to add all group chat while said person was in a group. Once "soandso" joins the group it would be nice to have all group text added to the file until "soandso" leaves, or the last person that you were searching in the case of multiple toon searches. Thanks again for the help!
