A Roman Catholic priest was charged in the 1980 killing of a nun whose body was found in the chapel of the hospital where he served as chaplain, police said.

The Rev. Gerald Robinson, 63, was arrested Friday, five months after police reopened the investigation into the death of Sister Margaret Ann Pahl, Chief Mike Navarre said.

Pahl, 71, was stabbed about 30 times and strangled on April 5, 1980, police said. Her body was found in the chapel of Toledo's Mercy Hospital where she was the caretaker.

Last week, Kerry met privately with Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the Washington archbishop heading a task force examining whether there should be church sanctions for Catholic politicians who vote and support positions at odds with church teachings.

"The church teaching has always been the same. And it continues to be the same," said McCarrick said Friday in Minneapolis for the 15th American Cardinals Dinner.

Bishop Raymond Burke, the archbishop of St. Louis, has said he would refuse to give Kerry Communion.

Lets see, there was a recent priest involved hit and run driving accident too. I think he was drunk.

I bet none of these priests had a problem with Kerry's political stances until he ran for president.

Hey, that's where a lot of my relatives come from, Aidon! Maybe you're my long lost cousin from the Jewish branch of the Milligans.... the long lost Irish jews. We took a wrong turn out in the Sinai desert.
