Bad pet pathing can make dire charm soloing a really frustrating experience. No matter where I go I seem to run into trouble: I can't get the Viscous Raptor off the raptor island in order to kill pirates in Timorous Deep. I can't get my cheetah to follow me into the caves in Scarlet Desert. I can't get my anaconda to follow me into the Potameid caves in JaggedPine. My pet seahorse is constantly getting lost in Kedge. Aaaaarrggg!

In some cases, the pet will reset to its bind point in the middle of a fight and you are either stuck tanking/rooting the mobs it was fighting or evac'ing. The latter, of course, causes you to lose your pet (and wait for DC to refresh).

In the best of all worlds, the pathing would work better. In the world we're stuck with, however, it would be nice if there was a way to call the pet to your location. You could then park the pet, advance, and then call it to you in order to avoid (some of) the pathing problems.

Just out of interest, has anyone come up with any strategies to mitigate the pet pathing problems?

Thanks,
-Klath <Terminus>

The DC bear in PoS gets very stuck too ...it dont like water hehe. You run over the water and it runs off back to zone in. You litterly have to walk it right around the edge of the zone to get it past the water.

There are such a spell... *grin* Here's the kicker, druids aren't tagged for it, and I'm unsure if it even works on charmed stuff.

Seriously tho, there are a couple of good ways that I'm using when I run into bad pathing... Aggro pathing seems to be considerably better than pet pathing. You can also try aggro warping, but I'm still unclear if utilising that would constitute an exploit... you know how a mob you've aggroed which has no path to you will pop on top of you? This can basically be used for pulling a mob without having him run through path points.

Also... keeping an eye on your pet and moving very slowly so that it doesn't get the urge to head to the nearest path node or learning exactly where the node is and pull the pet through the node will in general get you around bad pathing.
