Do you find some of the questions from players lately making you think that MAYBE you are becoming an elderly druid.

Lately I have had to answer the following questions and it makes me wonder.

1) What is SolB, NK, BB, etc. We used to have so few zones that two letters (or for some 3: Nej, HHP, HHK) was enough so that anyone knew where you were refering to. Lately when I go to older zones I have to explain where I am instead of using zone abreviations.

2) Where is... Once I tell them the zone I am in, I have to explain where in the EQ world it is.

3) How do I get to .... DOH!! Now I have to give travel directions including gates and zone connections... What am I? A travel agent??

4) What are you hunting there... grrrrrrr... OK, they don't know world geography but now they don't know what type of zone it is and what populates it..

5) In the public zones I find more higher level characters asking about buffs since they don't know what they do or who casts them. How can you get to lv 60+ and not know the difference between SoW and SoE or Virtue and Pot9? I just shake my head, use my gnome potion, load my ceramic sword and tell them I am a gnome rogue and don't know buffs...

6) Guild tells about which PoK gate stone to take to which zone since the zones don't apprear on the gate stones (see #2).

7) Newbie tells for high level buffs then upset when you tell them it won't hold on them until you try it just to shut them up. I had a green monk the other day that wanted SoE and 9 (plus some sham/cleric/enc buffs) that insisted that he should get them. Welcome to ignore.. Wanted to nuke his green butx when he spamed the zone with derogatory comments about me.

Sigh... Anyone else feeling a little elderly lately?

One of the questions from the old (maybe current too) EQ Guides "quiz" was how to get from one place to another - provide two routes without teleports. I think it was from Qeynos to Freeport. Sad thing was that I used to be able to do that off the top of my head.

In fact, if someone still has the old guide test, that'll give you an idea of how "old school" you can get.

<bGame Scenarios: </b>
Lithgar petitions, "OMG!! This guy is stealing all of my group's kills! He is level 51 and killing everything that is level 15." Lithgar, himself, has a history of stealing kills and player harassment. How do you handle this?

Drembo claims to have lost a full suit of armor after the recent patch. Knowing that guides cannot reimburse items, what would you do with this petition?

You are Guiding on Rallos Zek(PvP), and receive a petition from Aradiel, "These guys keep killing me over and over at my bind point, they will not leave me alone." Can you and how would you help this person?

Zatren, a fellow guide, is having a problem with a player and asks you for assistance. He then logs out when you come to help him, and the player, with the issue. The player tells you that Zatren was being rude and was harassing him. What would you do?

You get a petition about a name, 'Zalumbas Ownzyou.' You explain to Zalumbas that his name violates policy and that it needs to be changed. He then gets mad and starts cursing and calling you names. How would you handle this?

Axgoreth is complaining that he died from going linkdead and tells you to resurrect him. The server has not had any problems within the past week, and it seems that he is the only one that this happened to. What do you tell the player?

Scenarios:

Please address the following scenarios. Please answer in first-person as if you were the full Guide actually were talking to the person involved:

1. How would you answer following petition: Bob petitions, "How do I get from Qeynos to Freeport?"

2. Bob petitions, "I just died in Crushbone and respawned in Halas. I have to leave in 15 minutes, can you summon me to my corpse?" Assume you are in Greater Faydark at the time you receive the petition.

3. It's 3am on a Sunday morning. No other GM's or powered Guides are on and the /petition load is steady such that you have little time between calls. You receive a /petition from an irate person (We'll call him "Bob") who fell off the boat in the Ocean of Tears, and drowned, thus leaving their corpse at the bottom of the ocean. Since he forgot to have himself bound closer, he is in Qeynos and looking at a very long run to his body.

"Bob" is highly upset because he has a full set of chain that it took him weeks to earn. He is faced with definite corpse-loss and is saying that he will quit if he can't get his corpse. What do you do?

4. It is late on a Friday night. Four separate people are /petitioning about a group of players kill stealing in North Ro. You go to investigate and determine that all of the /petitioners are from different groups, all complaining about the same group of alleged kill stealers.

The alleged kill stealers, a party of Dark Elves and Trolls, explain that they are simply playing their alignment and being evil. They are not swearing or cursing, but simply being evil. The players that are complaining have begun swearing and being abusive as they are upset. What is your resolution to this situation?

5. You are a Guide that is playing your non-Guide character with a group of friends. Your group gets in over their head and your character dies in a bad spot. Your party tries, unsuccessfully, several times to retrieve your corpse to no avail. You did not die to a bug, nor is your corpse stuck or otherwise irretrievable. You just had a run of bad luck and are facing losing your full suit of plate and all your magic weapons and items in 8 hours as your body disappears. What do you do?

6. You are Guiding early in the morning and are the only Guide online. A player reports that he is hunting wolves in Qeynos Hills and that every second or third wolf is dropping an item worth 20 plat. What do you do?

7. A player /petitions that they are having an inventory problem. You arrive on the scene and are speaking with the customer, investigating the problem when the player is suddenly attacked by monsters and is dying. What do you do?

8. A player /petitions that he died to a bug. You commit to go help him and zone to him. When you arrive on the scene, another Guide tells you that they had already told the customer that the Guides could not help him. The customer explains that the other Guide just does not like him and refuses to help him, even though the problem is legitimate. How do you handle this?

Sad...but does anyone know when the last time they gave out an artifact? I'm drawing some blanks here. I do know the few quests that GM's ran that resulted in an artifact reward it was well talked about here.

Last I can point to for sure was when Luclin opened, and some people got those gate-to-Nexus items.

hehe.. brings back memories... unfortuately I have forgotten way to much. Last night I got the following 3 questions to answer..

How do I use these hook thingies to fish with? (in PoK).
What is a zerker?? (in PoT)
What is that zone that is near that hole place? (guild chat) This one lead to an ongoing instruction on gating to PoK, taking Paineel stone, navigating warrens, Stonebrunt etc to Dulak.

And on that route from SQ to EF most people forget the southern route though rathe, swamps and oasis or northern through runnyeye since the HHP was shorter. Now days it is run out NQ gate turn right go to PoK stone, go to Freeport stone, and run through freeport. I used to hate the WK run with a passion and prefered to go via tox.

Paineel and the Hole brings up an interesting "feature" that I'm surprised they haven't addressed yet. It'll probably be one of those "fixed three years after the fact and players wonder why the hell they decided to bother" type fixes. Speaking of course about entering the Hole w/out a key....

Elderly Druid? You make it sound like SOW actually means Spirit of the Walker

lv 67 - Alshiemers (each time you log on you forget a random spell).
lv 68 - Spirit of the Wheelchair
lv 69 - Old Oak form (turn into an gnarled treeform and lose mana/health)
lv 70 - Spirit of the (Nursing) Ward (Can't move and can no longer digest foraged food).

LOL Read the title to the thread and all I could think of is upgrading titles from Elder to elderly. I was thinking OMG if they change us from elder to elderly I seriously will cancel my account.
