I'd also like to add that all the downtime was actually just for the smiley above. They say its for a 'Server Upgrade' blahblahblah.. It's all about the :shuffle :

Nice work, guys. I just have a few questions (out of professional curiosity)...

1. Which motherboard is that that supports 4 Xeons?
2. Which o/s?
3. Are those 10k RPM drives? Must've been fun configuring that raid.

I don't know the stats for sure, Onetree, but I'm sure it's on some sort of *ix system - I think Rah told me Linux, but not 100% positive. As for the hardware, quad procs are usually manufacturer specific, as are the RAID cards. Not too hard to configure either. Told Sobe we should have gotten a SAN, but he said something about $10k being too much, blah blah blah. ;)

Beast was down today for some more upgrades.. hopefully after the next couple of cpanel updates and stuff.. we should be pretty solid for a bit.

Debian Linux, if I recall right. Other OS specs I don't have off hand myself as I currently misplaced the stats URL Rahj sent me once upon a time. ;)

yes a SAN is SOOOOO neccessary :P TBs of disk space can't go wrong :P

OS is Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3. I dropped Debian Linux because, Cpanel is only in Alpha/Beta Stages for that platform.

System Bogomips of 22,282.24.

As to what Motherboard, that's the only info about the server I don't have.

As to performance, this server isn't even in the same league as the older one. Our avg load is 0.00. Even at TDG's peak viewing time 12et-2et.

bah, nothing wrong with alpha software! It's all open source! Means you can fix the bugs yourself. :)

Bit of downtime today - here and there while we change some features and install some others. GD, Fantastico, and some clean up -
