Why would we use this spell instead of Karanas Rage, Maybe its just listed wrong but damage is 1105 when KR is 1100

ummm correct me if I am wrong but this spell is a rain effect AE, nothing like Karana's Rage ... so this will not be the upgrade for Karana's Rage.

I though that at first but they are both liste as Targetted AE. If its a rain affect I can see its place in my spell book,if not I dont see the upgrade

Well fact that is cold based (as I belive all your "rain" spells are) and says 3 waves in description leads me to also belive it is a rain rather than just a normal AE.

Indeed, this is currently a "rain" Targeted AE of 3 wavs of 1105 each wave.

This is a really inefficient spell when compared with Winter's Storm (same resist adjust, same casting time) - that had dmg 850/wave and mana 500 (that's a 1.7 ratio) v. 1168/wave and mana 810 (that's ~1.4)

why? also posting on the spells and AA forum.

actually rains can be used EXACTLY like quad nukes and it will hit all 4 targets at once rains have a 4max hit on them, 1 mob will rain x3 , 2 mobs it will rain x2 equal 4hits, 3 mobs 1 rain of 3 hits, 4 mobs 1 rain of 4hits, but this spell isnt as efficent as Karana's rage, and yes ive tired it, i have tested it myself quadding solo in pofire tables, and it uses much more mana then karana's rage, gets resisted even more then karana's rage, even with cold debuffs. Karana's rage is Much more efficent then this spell. if you havent tested it yourself dont be certain your right. a rain spell CAN hit x4 on 4 mobs once.

Also, KR is outdoor only, whereas this spell is castable anywhere.

As far as mana efficiency, one needs to consider time as well. You may get more damage per mana point using another spell, but if getting the damage done quickly is key, then you want the less efficient/higher damage output spell. For example, in many higher end raids where the named casts mana drain spells, you want to burn thru your mana as fast as possible, or else lose it to the manadrain. In other cases where the mob is regenning at higher rates or your are under a time limit (again more raid-like scenarios), you want fast/high dps spells... even if they are not mana efficient.

If you are just a soloer, and time is not an issue, then mana efficiency is probably more important to you.

I always wondered why we don't have an Ice debuff primer spell like we do for our Ro debuff line. I also ponder why mobs in PoFire resist our Ice debuff spells (I am talking about named... Eci sticks to trash pretty easy).

With the latest changes to initially resist to rain spells i have tested this spell in PoF at tables, i had almost no resists with no debuffs, an no resist with the mobs debuffed cold.

In case of effiency with Karanas Rage i got so much resists that i was usualy OOM after a quadd, with tempest Wind i have enough mana left for an other mob single.

This is definitively my new favorite at Tables quadding

hm thats interesting, cause i save alot more mana on KR then TW. and KR seems to be alot more Efficent for me. they might have changed the resist ajusts on it since i last tested it.
