Ok, so I should know better. The zone out to Chardok is not the best place to set up camp but hey, it is good exp and I'm about to ding, so there! :P
I log on with my ToV buffs still wild on me (Aego, shammy buffs, C3, all that jazz) and call the camp check. Bla Bla Bla. No one on zone out. So I head that way and start rotting 2 at a time. Before I get them to half health I see someone run past. I look back and there is a skelly running to me. Great. first train. I try to root. resist. root again. sticks, but now I'm too close to the other mobs. hit hit hit. Manage to get all rooted but now I'm really in a fix. 5 mobs rooted around me and I can't remember the order, and no room to maneuvre. Then it happens again. another dude runs past (no message at all either time) with more mobs. So, after watching my mega HPs drop to less than 2 bubs I have no alternative but to zone... And I zone into BW buffless. WTF is up with that coding??? So now I'm back to basics. C3 has gone bye bye out the window, and so have all my HPs. Thanks a lot Verant.
So I med up and head back in. And start over.
And guess what? I get trained twice more. No messages no nothing, just people running with mobs behind them. Sheesh. This is really turning out to be a great day. Already been there an hour and killed just 2 mobs. Wow, we druids really rock at farming that xp... :P
So the last train comes along. At least this time it was shouted. So i zone... yet again! But when I say in /ooc thanks for the train for the 5th time! this guy (60 cleric) is all attitude. "I don't feel sorry for training no druid. you picked the easiest class to level so forgive me if I train your sorry @#%$ while yer soloin'." and crap like that...
/flex
Count to 10 (something I never do, but hey, it was already a bad day)

In the end we took our little argument to tells, but this guy has one serious attitude problem with druids. Damn I'm getting so sick of it.
/rant off... for a while

Ciao for now!

He probably hates druids because he's impotent.

If you want to avoid trains, stay off the tracks. It's rude to train but you KNOW people will do it.

If you're on the tracks, you assume the risk.

That struck me as very very funny.

Sorry you got trained. =(
Chardok Zo is one of my favorite places to camp.. Keep charm animal loaded fer trouble though!

And yeah, that zoning buffless thing is crap. I've hollered at GM's more than once because of that. =(

to Rtfm:

Candente was his name. He was doing the Fansy act on me when I told him all I needed was a 'sorry for training you bud.' nothing more nothing less. /shrug
He was actually quite funny. Just his attitude sucked, especially towards Druids.

And yes, about that being on the tracks stuff, I agree, but call the train and I can go invis, and with any luck there won't be a sniffer that can see through it or a skelly. If I'm not given the chance... :-/

The buffless thing...

Don't bug it, don't mention it. It is there for a reason.

It means you really died during the zone time. They introduced the bug intentionally, because people would die, show up at bind point and corpse would be stuck between zones.

You DID die, they just gave you a reprive, so that they would not have to deal with the stuck corpses.

And yes it has happened to me there in Chardok, similar situation, but was a monk FD trainer(one of the reasons for my high esteem for the class). But I have Evac'ed tons of times where party members showed up buffless, as well. I just call it 'Druid Rezzing'.

Heya:

I thought that if you zoned with less hit points than the amount provided by your hit point gear, _then_ it removed all your buffs. Something about how the game zones you without benefit of your equipment, then checks your hit points (and if negative, removes all buffs rather than killing you), and _then_ applies the benefits (including +HP) to you.

If they could just do the hit point check _after_ applying the benefits of your gear, I'd think it would solve this problem. On the other hand, you wouldn't be able to get rid of nasty DoTs or debuffs by zoning low on health anymore.

Of course, if I'm wrong about my first paragraph, nevermind. ;)

"He was doing the Fansy act on me when I told him all I needed was a 'sorry for training you bud.'"

OMG Fansy, everyone's favorite bard! I never played on SZ, but a friend of mine did, and I heard many wonderful stories of the famous infamous bard =)

Whatever happened to him?

Hes BAAAAAAACK! GO GO GOOD TEAM! lol He is now terrorizing the poor halflings in Rivervale by charm sploiting the pod. He kept the entire zone wiped for 3 hours I think before a gm finally booted him lol. Something about even though they are neutral good they arent truly on the good team and so must DIE! I WISH I knew how to post a link to the story! The funniest part was when several groups of high levels came in to take out the pod(and Fansy lol) and they ALL got creamed!

Nope.

You just died.

They give you a second chance get out of jail free card.

And only works when you are leaving a zone, not entering one of course.

I'm not totally convinced about that dying part. Normally, when that happens, you appear at the safe spot, and on two occassions I lost all my buffs but remained at the zone out from Chardok. A few days earlier I had appeared at the safe spot right beside the DL (I think) zone. /shrug
I had to log yesterday one kill away from dinging. No mobs at zone in (much safer :P ) and it was already late, so I'm gonna try and start the day by seeing what 57 is like :)
Shame I always do the same crap and forget to carry my new spells with me :-/

What rtfm is referring to is when you zone, your toon is taken apart then put back together again.

Remember that HP items subtract HP from both total and current hps.

Zone
Remove and transport buffs
Remove and transport all equipment.
Transport character.

When equipment is removed, and if removing any HP equipment drops current HP below 0, it considers you dead.

But code says one can not die while zoning this way (due to the problems listed), so person zones with 1HP + gear HP. Since there was a changed to the character's details, any and all buffs are lost (just like with resurrect line spells).

IMHO, this is how I have observed what happens when zoning.

yet...
Why do you sometimes appear at the safe spot in the zone you are zoning into and other times you don't?
And... I have died a few times while zoning. I'm not too sure on the validity of this in this situation, but in any case, I do consider this a bug (zoning and losing all buffs). Why the hell would you have HP gear if it then considers you dead? Makes no sense. But that's EQ for you. :P

"Why do you sometimes appear at the safe spot in the zone you are zoning into and other times you don't"

I don't have an answer for that.

I have evac'ed out a group,,,some who lost buffs showed up by me,,,some showed up at safe spot. Aye, we were all hurting bad...;)

You use ageo? I couldn't live without the mana regen on PoTG. (sorry to derail topic, that just caught my eye)

Nah, I'm only 57, don't have PotG yet.
Had Aego, C3, etc from a ToV raid, so decided to use it. :P
But that's beside the point really. It's just so bothersome to have all your buffs removed. :-/
