After tons of time in Proving Grounds, never saw a Dark Scroll, likewise having to xp in Bloodfields when I'd rather be elsewhere to get that port is annoying.

Ended up paying 20k for 1 Dark Enchanted Scroll, and 3 Discord Crystals.
Which seems ****ty ass way to have to go about it.

/shrug the gg spell quest didn't seem hard at all.

guildmember tells you, "gate us to bf"
/tell guildmember "ok. farm the parts for me please"

2 days later. I was handed all the parts I needed =P Quest done.

LOL....I was fortunate enough to have all the quest items for both spells handed to me by guild members as well (thank you, guildies!).

Ya basically I told the guild to keep an eye out for all the bits, then they handed them to me. I then handed them out to each of the guild druids / wizards as they asked for them.

Sorted.

Not that bad to be honest, I collected 95% of them myself on the first few days also.

I got my dark enchanted Scroll in WOS near the tent camp, saw 2 drop in around 4 hours. I got my crystals killing the Kyv's that are on the platform in Dranik's scar.

I don't see anything wrong with questing for the new portal spells, especially since the pieces are tradable. Ask guildies and friends to save them for you; they have almost as much motivation as you to get those spells in your book ... assuming they'll at some point want rides to BF or WoS.

You were either a bit too impatient or you had a bit too much plat burning a hole in your pocket. :)

Suggestion: Make these quest pieces a "project" for your whole guild... after all, they'll benefit in the long run. Post it on your message board, have an officer post it in the GMOTD, send occasional reminders in guildchat when you see people hunting in those zones. When it is well-known amongst your guildies what the pieces are needed for, they will be much more likely to keep an eye out for them.

Last week when someone asked me in guildchat where in WoS the teleport landed, I replied, "As soon as I get two more Pure Discordant Bloods, I can get the spell and let you know." Within an hour, two more bloods found their way to me. ;)

I had wos port done within 3 days of the expansion, a mage i grouped with gave me the scroll, i saw 1 blood drop, and when I auctioned to buy the other 2 bloods, a monk gave them to me for free.

Bloodfield port was more annoying, I found a crystal shard on a kyv rotting in wos, then killed stuff in DS for a couple hours and got 6 parchments (no crystals), I got the other 2 crystals over the course of another couple days off and on in DS.

I like the fact they're quested again...and with droppable parts so theres several ways to go about completing it. How you do it is up to you ;)

I'd actually prefer quested spells, except that I remember this game drops quest components extremely rarely.

I made it very well known, as well as other guild druids/wizards just what parts should be kept for the port quests. Within a few days, I believe all the druid/wizzies have both ports. Alot was collected just by exp groups in oow zones doing their thing.

For what it's worth, one guildie actually bought a bunch of the items off a vendor that another exp group I assume sold. Yes they were used for several of our ports. We actually need to tell them to stop holding them for us now. Everyone is so trained to keep them and we have more then enough now. =)

Bloods and crystals were beyon easy to come by (found my bloods on a merchant)
Discord parchment slightly harder to come by (but i found mine on a merchant)
I havent seen a dark enchanted scroll drop or anyone in my guild get one of them (i bought one from a trader for 3k (Yay for people that arent asshole gougers trying to get as much money possible from the retards that will pay 80k+ for an ethereal parch... i mean minor mutamite rune...))

I like the quested ports. Pieces drop commonly enough, and if your guildmates really want you to port them they'll help you out.

The only problem is if you need the spells "right now" you have to deal with new expansion prices. People are charging an arm and a leg for things just because the items are new and they are clueless. (This is why you see level 68 runes for 20k LESS than level 66.. /boggle) I am happy waiting for the prices go down, because they will. In the meantime if I get the last piece I need for WOS as a drop or from a guildie that's cool too.

I hate the questing of spells. It only provides an outlet for greedy peeps to do what they do best...measure the size of their penis by the size of their bank account.

Or worse...make a real life job from farming plat in EQ.

Peeps who farm EQ for RL cash are the lowest of the low, the vilest of the vile, the greediest of the greedy. These clueless peons are ruining the game for everyone else just so they can play a game for a living.

Make the runes nodrop. ALL of them. Make the items for the portal spells nodrop...heck, make them so if a NON porter loots them an emote to the entire zone ridicules them. "MrUberWarrior has LOOTED a component for another class then he CAN'T USE! Everyone give this dip**** a round of applause"

I think I would litterally fall out of my chair laughing if I saw such zone spam!

I think by now most folks will agree that the player-base 'free' economy is trashed. The 'illeagle' banker in befallen totally ruined the game. (to whomever did that, your an asshole of outstanding measure)

Sony NEEDS to go after these cash-for-plat websites with a team of angry lawyers and put them out of business, and in jail. (they are violating the EULA) Let them be some inmates 'toy' for a while and get their just rewards...right where they deserve it!

I would completely support having the runes already looted suddenly go stealth no-drop. Let these greedy peons suddenly have NOTHING they can overcharge for. Put them out of business!

I know it's impossible to out think a little ****ty thinker...one would have to BE one to do so. (HOW do these peeps find the brain power to circumnavigate elaborite rules, yet can't seem to find a REAL job?)

The purpose of this post is two-fold...One; to ventilate my anger, and two: to bait those who would defend such a practice...chances are they are one of the peeps busily 'working' their tails off.

I know that I would be most respective of a company that actually enforces its EULA. Those peeps who would be outraged by it are probably the peeps who would fear it...for it would be THEM who are the targets.

So, feel free to flame me! PLEASE! I EAGERLY await your defense of this cash-to-plat system! You'll only be making it easier to identify the ones doing it.

I have seen more dark scrolls in NC and WoS than MPG groups. Them making them droppable was a good idea. The prices are dropping dramatically, and the ports are already cheaper than most other spells you can buy (not cheaper than vendor bought ports, obviously).

I got the parchment and scroll off of one named in NC. The shards dropped from trash in NC, and the blood dropped commonly in WoS.

Been getting crystals while farming and got two scrolls so far. I have given 4 crystals and a scroll away to others for free. BUT

While in WoS it took me forever to get 3 bloods because people in the group would not give them to the Wiz/Druids. In two groups the group looters flat out refused to give them up. I finally got mine when I started being group looter and the group Enc raised heck because he wanted them so had to split the two that dropped with him. In total, I finally got my 3 by buying the last one off a merchant. I have lost several lottos for the Dark scrolls where every other class has won them to sell in the Bazaar. Almost makes "No Drop" look better.

You do have the port to the Emerald Jungle? Sounds like a nice place for a picnic :)

The ledge near the Druid Port in EJ in is a lovely place for a picnic. Occasionally it gets a bit foggy but the view is nice and it is quiet there... you can forage oranges for desert and tea leaves for a nice tea.
