I remember quite some time back, the rangers over on the glade created a best of the best equipment thread listing all the ranger usuable gear and ranking it all on one thread.

Is there anything like this for druids?

We had such threads, but they were at the old EZBoard and it was at least a couple years ago. Never found much use for them, personally. /shrug.

Unfortunately the search here wants to ignore the words Best, Of and The... so there's no way to find them heh.

Yes, I did several Best of the Best threads. Each would focus on a specific slot, and look at all the options for that slot (this was back when all the possible options for a slot didn't number in the hundreds).

I stopped because new pieces began being introduced on a fairly regular basis. Not only with new expansions. And with new expansions, you would usually see two or three sets of new armor, as well as a host of miscellaneous pieces. And the best of the best started boiling down to the set of armor for that class from the ultimate end zone of the new expansion.

Focii also played a big part. It is very hard to compare items with different focii, and compare focii to other stats, such as hp or mana.

At present, it really is a matter of what a particular druid has access to, what choices they have, and what their other equipment is. You can then rationally compare three or four pieces and determine what the best for you at the moment.

What I do myself is check with Allakhazam from time to time. I check a particular slot, organize it by HP, and start at the top end and work my way down until I get to a couple items lower than what I currently have. I check availability, etc., and determine a short and long term goal for that slot, keeping in mind what focii and FT I have in other slots (I have to maintain my minimum FT 20, after all).
