Corpse Explosion! Well, way back in the day, there was a Necromancer class. But it was removed because it was too much like the Warlock class, and Blizz wanted all their classes to be unique.

Other things they had once upon a time: Crusader Strike and Druids of the Talon. Those have both been put "back" in the game.

Which makes their recent mention of possibly putting Necromancers back in the game so much more exciting.

I wonder though how much the WoW Necromancer would be like the Diablo Necromancer. Because the WoW Paladin is nothing like the Diablo version. Druid? Yes, they're very similar. But Necromancer... hm... if one of your party members dies, it would be nice to cast Corpse Explosion and use his death to seriously mess up the enemy. Or maybe even resurrect a fallen party member as a zombie for a limited time, a combat rez sort of like druids but gimped.

How the devs made Necromancers "too much like Warlocks" is beyond me. The possibilities are dizzying. And who knows, maybe they revisited the idea - because it sure would fit with WotLK - and realized "hey, we can make this different and fun."
