Hello everyone,
I'm out to prove to my friends that a ferral druid can heal decently. I am looking for some decent +healing gear that's not too hard to get. Raiding is kind of tough for me, but I can work it. I have all the pvp gear up to legionair, and I have
Lei of the Lifegiver http://www.thottbot.com/?i=40571
I was going to get all the +healing enchants which is 109 healing I believe. The new quest for druids gives you the chest with +55 healing. Is there any other decent one I'm missing? Quests I can do in parts are great, it's just hard for me to take a chunk of time of 2+ hours to raid for gear.
Thanks

If you want to do something quick and cheap try picking up cloth healing gear its everywhere. AC shouldn't really matter if you have a good tank.

You can find tons of +healing leather gear in DM east and DM west. These instances are 5 man, and there is lots of loot to go around. Lots of fun too.

I had a few of these:
Padres Trousers - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35781
Gloves of Restoration - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35613
Insightful Hood - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35647
Waterspout Boots - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=39091
Eyestalk Cord - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35835
Cloak of the Cosmos - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35674
Chestplate of Tranquility - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35729
Emerald Flame Ring - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=35701

Also, do you have your Royal Seal of Eldre'Thelas? It gives +10 fr and +44 healing. Comes from this drop http://www.thottbot.com/?i=39957

Mantle of Lost Hope (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=53210) - common drop off Lord Roccor in BRD who can be soloed (also drops the Idol of Ferocity)

Ghoul Hide Leggings from Scholo are better than Padre's Trousers.

Hide of the Wild is better than Cloak of the Cosmos and easier to get if you have money. You just buy it from a crafter. I paid about 95g for mats and 20g to have it made.

BOE greens with decent +heal sometimes appear on the AH for reasonable prices. I picked up a staff with +55 healing dirt cheap.

Other than that, you're going to be running DM a lot.

You got mats for Hide of The Wild for 95g? wow.

8 Larval acid usually sell for about 10g each on my server (were selling for 14g last night)
12 Living Essence sell for 7-8g each
10 Essence of water sell for 12g each.
3 Cured Rugged Hides sell for a bit (not sure how much)

... Roughly 300g on Spirestone

It's better than cloak of the cosmos for sure. And ghoulskin leggings own padres, though padres are probably easier to get imo. (Dropped first run through DM West for me, ghoulskin still havent dropped in about 12 scholo runs) Although now that scholo is only 5 man and the drops have been made better, there is more loot to go around, so its a tossup.

Cured Rugged Hides avg 6 - 7g on Malfurion ( blasted 3 day cool down on the salt! )

On Drak'thul, farmers tend to flood the market with anything that starts getting high in price. Larval acid got down to 3g per and I bought a lot more than I needed. Sold the excess for 18 per the next week. Same thing with the other mats except for the hides. I just had to wait and watch the market.

Nice sond. I'd buy every larval acid I could find for that price  Pretty cool 15g on the turnaround.

Thank you very much everyone, I'm on my mission now for all the healing gear! :)

While I agree with you that having a good tank + healing gear + skill can compensate for not having the deep talents in the restoration tree, there are still people who are going to say that you will still heal better with the talents and the gear.

Some people won't take your good healing with a feral build as proof enough.

People who say that don't understand druids. Resto spec doesn't mean that you can heal better. It gives you an instant heal every 3 minutes and the equivalent of a mana potion every 6 minutes. Resto can heal more per cast of a particular rank, Feral can cast a particular rank more times before oom.

A lot of the +heal gear that's very attractive to a Feral druid isn't as nice for a Resto druid. Resto druids don't have +20% INT that a Feral does, so they want gear with lots of +INT. The effectiveness of Innervate is determined by SPR, so Resto druids want gear with lots of +SPR. Gear that has lots of +INT and +SPR doesn't have a lot of +heal.

It all tends to balance out.

Now, the real thing to consider is whether your guild is good at raiding. If they don't have a solid grasp of healing rotations, potion use, and so forth, you'll end up Resto so that you can Innervate the priests. That is a completely separate matter.

Take anybody that doesn't think +400 heal is good enough on an *BRS run. Use HT rank 6 for most of your heals. Throw in a Regrowth/Rejuv combo on the MT once in a while as a damage shield. You probably won't have any problem coming in at the top of the healing charts with relatively little overheal.

Try this: http://www.thottbot.com/?qu=7506

If you have engineering and can make large seaforium charges, you'll be able to solo it at lvl 60. Just avoid the hyenas at all costs b/c they can see thru stealth.

Solo'ing the return of the book is pretty easy ( assuming you have the key, some large seaforium charges...or duo it with a 300 lockpick rogue ).

Enter the North instance and stealth. Look for any patrols, if you see any just continue to wait. The dogs see you in stealth and you're dead. Period.

With no patrols in sight, make your way straight and slightly to the left towards a ramp.

From the top right corner of the ramp make your way at an angle towards the left side of the ramp and jump onto the left edge. Quickly move back to the top where the edge meets the wall and wait for any patrols to move by. This jump might take you a few times to get right. There can and will be a patrol that comes near the bottom and near the top. If you are too close to the top of the ramp when the top patrol comes the dogs eat you. If you are too far down the ramp ( like 1/2 way ) and the bottom patrol comes by, the dogs eat you. You will be safe from the patrols once on the edge and against the wall.

Facing the bottom of the ramp, turn to your left and drop down staying up against the wall. Follow the wall around and down the next ramp. Open the door by key, explosives or rogue and continue on without harassment to the library and get your trinket :)

I helped a 52 rogue stealth through, without use of distractions and not a single death. Just pay attention and be decisive.

ZG gear is good but not easy to get.
Dependent upon what type of guild you are in, if you can visit ZG on a regular basis you can get all sorts of +healing gear. Oh, did I mention that the armor on ZG gear is awsome?

Got my Hide of the Wild this weekend. The water was easy to get, I stayed up late Friday night and nobody was around and just took out those Horrids.

The evening before I had 2 larval acids drop for me in EPL, I bought a few underpriced ones on the AH ( 8g buyout ) and then ground out the last 2 in EPL that evening. That's also when I got a Lifestone to drop, which was pretty cool.

It felt longer trying to find someone that could actually make the cloak for me than anything else......but then again time passes VERY slowing when spamming "WTB Hide of the Wild - have mats PST " in the Trade channel *sigh*

I've gotten near 400 healing now. Does anyone know of an easy to get 1 hander with +30 healing or so? I can't seem to figure out how to use thottbot's search function I always get blank.
Thanks

The quest "The Perfect Poison" has a reward 1hand mace with 6 or 8int and +30 healing. It requires a poison sack from the first boss in AQ20 and the first boss in ZG... not too hard.

Well, a few possible items.
A hammer in BRD is (Hammer of Grace) http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4931
Would figure fairly easy to get without a raiding guild.

Venoxis in ZG drops (Fang of Venoxis) http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51328
This would require a decent 20man ZG group though boss is fairly easy to kill. Good luck with that roll though.

I personally use (Aurastone Hammer) http://thottbot.com/?i=28233
Requires full raid group.

If you want a decent combo of +healing AND mana regen that is totally doable solo = Alterac Valley: pick up this hammer via quest = (Cold Forged Hammer) http://thottbot.com/?i=51996
Then add a (Lei of the Lifegiver) http://thottbot.com/?i=40571 with exaulted rep.

I used the Hammer of Grace and Lei of the Lifegiver til I got my Will of Arlokk and slapped a +55 Healing enchant on it.
