I just hit 60 :texla: and now am into raiding in MC.

Just wondering if any of you can give me tips on Healing in Raids and if should respecc from 0/30/21 to a different build, what spells I should have on my toolbar, what to do and etc.

Quite different from secondary healing / feral in 5 man instances.

Trixtaa,

I am also activly raiding MC (and Feral as well) I would talk to your normal raid leader and your healing coordianator and have them put you in the rogue group for just one raid... you healing problem solved... ok well not all the way. You will probabally be called on to heal for the boss fights but most of the time i just stay Kitty and give the rogues my LoTP lubbins, also keep an eye on your other healers mana and be ready to pop out if one of them gets low or if *all hell breaks loose*

Dont change from feral unless you want to!

as for acually healing (like i said im usually a bossfight healer) usually i try to keep regrowth running at all times on my tank and use HT to pick him up if he gets lower then i like, we dont have NS but alittle prehealing can cover most of that and yeah you will probally end up overhealing a bit but its always better then underhealing right?

Regrowth is pretty inefficent. After building up a good +healing number I rely mainly on HT rank 4 and my highest rejuv (11) in my case. In a raid situation 166mana is cheap for a 1k heal, I keep other HT ranks in reach for different cases and keep regrowth 7 for that quicker heal when needed.

Being such a low rank of HT it drops down to a 2.5s cast time and is great for spamming.

my rejuv 11 ticks for ~375 so its a pretty strong HoT. With that and HT4 and others healing we are usually in good shape.

Is the cast time of HT that important, given Nature's Swiftness?

Nature's Swiftness has a 3 minute cooldown. So yes, the cast time on HT is important. I also use rank 4 HT to save the extra 0.5 sec of casting.

This is how I have my 'healing bar' set up when I'm healing a raid.

1. Fairie Fire (my finger tends to "twitch" sometimes...FF is a safe spell to cast)
2. Moonfire Rank 10 (helps with DPS and DoTs)
3. Wrath Rank 8
4. Starfire Rank 6
5. Hurricane
6. Healing Touch Rank 5
7. Healing Touch Rank 8
8. Healing Touch Rank 10
9. Rejuvination Rank 10
10. Regrowth Rank 9

The reason I use this set up is that in a raid, if I am healing a tank and I know the mob he's holding hits hard, I start out with a Rejuvination after the first 10% damage just to keep him up. If he takes more than 5% damage a hit, I use a Healing Touch Rank 5 right off the bat, depending on how it affects the damage being put on the Tank, I may just spam Rank 5, tossing out a Rejuvination whenever it wears off.

If the Tank is getting whacked hard, I will start using rank 8 Healing Touch. I have +381 Healing. On average, Rank 8 will heal for about 1500-1700 per shot and crits landing usually in and around the 2700-3200 area. The only time I'll use Healing Touch Rank 10 is in an emergency situation (Tank about to go down) and only with Nature's Swiftness. I don't even use Regrowth except to thow a heal to clothie/hunter/rogue who isn't in direct combat but has taken over 50% damage, it's a waste of mana in a long fight.

The more +healing you have, the more mana efficient you can be, the longer you can last in a long fight.

Hope this helps, anymore questions just ask.

It really depends on the role they want you to fill and what role you want to fill. When I hit 60, I repeced to a primary healing build so that I could more effectively heal on harder raids. (When the 1.11 patch comes out I will most likely respec to a Balance / Resto blend.)

If your guild really needs another healer, and you dont mind being a healer, respec. If you dont want to be a healer, dont.

One other note, if your guild wants you to be a "raid healer" where you heal anyone and everyone that needs a heal, I highly recommend getting the Genesis Healing MOD... it helps, alot. I even use it when in 5 and 10 man runs now. When you dont have any specific person targeted when you hit a heal, it looks at how you rank each class in priority and auto decides who needs a heal the most and what level of the spell you hit to cast would be the most mana efficient and still get the job done. It isnt perfect by any means, and it is no substitute for paying attention and throwing off targeted heals, but for really fast whole group / raid healing, you cant beat it.

Thanks for all the input so far everyone. Very appreciated. Still having to decide what I want to do in raids and if I want to grind PvP or not too.

Doesn't seem that an add-on like Benecast could be used given using lower level spells for mana conservation and decreasing cast time?

Are there add-ons that you all use that allow for this?

I've found that by the time an add-on cancels my spell if it's too much, I could have moved by a step, cancelling the spell myself and casting a Rejuv instead.

Spell casting add-ons are a crutch to my playing style.

They can help conserve mana for some people though.
