Aloha.
I'm new to these boards, however I play the same druid I rolled on Nov 2004 when the game came out. I was the primary healer for my guild (and subsequently the GM) and held that role until we recruited some priests and moonkin form popped.

I spec'ed moonkin and have been helping people dine on it ever since.

my moonkin build was primarily PVP, but recently I've realized the need to do some respect in regard to molten core and blackwing lair. I am confident I can do top 10 damage in MC, and have done it occasionally in the past.

I'd like advice and input on my build idea. Healing is not an issue - i'll drop out of MK to heal when it's absolutely necessary, but will never be counted on as a healer anymore than a damage shammie would.

Here goes...

What i'm running into trouble with is the build. I haven't had omen of clarity in a VERY long time - though I think it'll be handy for me in pure moonkin to generate additional mana free casts - agree or disagree?

I'm going too miss nature's grasp, but I think it's the tradeoff for it... thoughts?

Lastly - I want to hear what you guys think of your wrath. are you using it? how often and when? I'm a notorious FF/MOON/STAR, repeat (er) - I'm wondering where wrath is coming in for your folks.

New Build = 38/0/13
Points REMOVED from nature's grasp and put into natural weapons and Omen of Clarity.

Those are the BASE talents you need to be a serious moonkin player. The other points are purely opinion and personal pref.

In the end the most important thing of all is your +dmg/healing, without that your useless.

I personally find 400 with around 6000 mana buffed can out dps the majority of mages on trash, you wont be able to beat them on bosses unless you get Genesis and the best possible +dmg/heaing though due to the lack of mana regen abilities.

I have to disagree with a bit of that, but maybe you can explain?

Why 3 points in natural shapeshifter?
When i'm in MC, i stay in form 95% of the time and rarely shapeshift. When i do, it costs me no less than a moonfire cast.

shapeshifter is for efficiency, you will need to shift to heal and the less it costs you the better, before we got innervate OOM was a big concern.

5 man and solo OOC is great, I don't think you will want to get as up close and personal on raid mobs due to the cleaves and AoE damage you could avoid further back.

There is some discussion on whether wrath ever yields a higher dps than SF, and many seem to think it is very dependant on your gear. All I can think of is more wrath casts = more chances to crit. If chain casting though don't use wrath on a nature's grace proc as the global cooldown will still prevent you from gaining th full benefit. I would suggest FF, MF, wrath, wrath, and SF on a grace proc.
