OK..i know this may sound dumb....but on my warrior when i hit the hot key #1 with the sword icon, it doesnt fight. I have to right click the mob. Yet before 2 days ago the hot key worked. It works for my other characaters....what could this be , how could i fix it?
Also....my warlock has a dagger in his primary in inventory.....yet when i attack a mob, it punches and doesnt use the weapon.....this changed yesterday.....how can i fix that.
After so many years at EQ....i just couldnt figure out these basics....can someone help please?

As for the warrior, you may have changed your key bindings. Over the sword icon, is there a numeral 1?

For the warlock, it sounds like you may have broken your dagger. (Items in World of Warcraft have durability. You can see this information by mousing over the item. If it gets to 0, the item breaks and you can no longer use it until you repair it. Weapon and armor vendors can repair items for you. There will also be a suit of armor on your screen showing broken items in red, and items about to break in yellow.)

With your warrior you may have put another weapon into your 1 slot ( I did this when I first played the game ), thinking that was how to swap out weapons.

To reset this, go to your spell book, and on the first tab the first time should be attack. Click and drag that down to your #1 slot and all should be better.

How many spells can be loaded at one time? I think at level 2 a warlock only can load 3 spells at a time? Is this true?
I thought it was like in EQ that all levels can load 8 spells at a time. Can anyone help?

there's is no loading of spells in wow. you have every single spell that you have learned available to cast at any time. I can cast Healing Touch rank 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 if I wanted to put the icons on a hotbar, or even type "/cast healing Touch (rank 8)" if I didn't have it assigned to a button.

Though you do have to train the spells, many of which wont become available until later in the game. At lv 2, all classes will have 2 or maybe 3 spells total. As you progress, you will be able to learn new, more powerful spells every two levels. For example, Warlocks cannot train the Death Coil spell until level 42.
