What do you plan on doing first when the Burning Crusade expansion goes live? Starting a new character, leveling an existing one, or something else?

I thought about putting a "wait in queue/try to connect/try to patch/etc" option in there, because I think that's what I'll be doing, but I wanted to make this a more valid poll.

So think of it as, "when you're finally able to play, what will you be doing first?" :P

Create a shaman, to see what all the fuss is about. :sumo:

Lawl. Shammys are fun and great.

I'll probably be taking Trixtaa to 70 and play and alt if I don't get involved in raiding. Join the rush to 70~

I'm torn. I'm an alliance player through and through, but Blood Elves are quite tempting. Draenei, hrm.

Pretty sure I'm going to try and get to level 70 asap--the great race! I'm lucky that week... It's all half-days for me, bwhaha.

Flix is an Alliance player through and through as well, and although part of me really wants to play a Blood Elf, the druid is the only class that has ever interested me higher then lvl 4 in the entire 2 years I've played WoW.

So, I'm gonna head off to go lvl to 70. Then probably start the farming for my 5,000g Artisan Flying Mount. I'm completely gonna not buy the 1,000g Regular Flying Mount, since we have flight form =D. And besides, it's only 40% quicker.

Actually, despite the doom and gloom on the druid WoW boards, I believe I caught that Flying Mounts were at 60% speed. So, flight form would be at the same speed, and gives us the 225 riding skill.

Supposedly, that is. It might have been an old post I was reading, for all I know, but it was made by a blue. So...

They could have changed it. But I remember reading that when they first announced Flying Mounts, they said even the slowest flying mounts will move as fast as the current Epic Mounts. And yes I'm too lazy to go see if they've changed it or not since then.

I found the post on it, but it was from 10/5... So it might have changed?

Q u o t e:
The current flight form speed of 60% makes it so slow that the moment a druid gets a flying mount they won't ever use flight form again. Why you ask? Because the ability can't help you to escape combat or be used for any other useful thing save jumping off cliffs once you're 70 and have a flying mount. Just take it out of the game if it's going to play that way! Don't taunt us with something that will be useless 2 months into the expansion after we have our real flying mounts...

The current flight form speed is the same as general flying mount speeds. Why exactly would you buy a flying mount in this case? http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=32203250&sid=1

ground mount - 60%
flight form - 60%
epic mount - 100%
flying mount - 60%
epic flying mount - 280%

Also, you have to train up all the skills to get the epic flying mount (just like with a tradeskill, where you can't skip one of the skill levels), so buying a normal flying mount wouldn't be much more expensive than not.

I will be taking my hunter thru first as he is my Main and has been 60 the longest...Then I will quickly take my Druid as he has become my favorite and lvl him to 70 while I play my Hunter when I need a break.

I will also be making a Draenei Pally and a Blood Elf Hunter, but mainly playing my Night Elf Druid mostly.

This must have changed. I keep up with my buddies on their flying mounts with no problem. AFAIK all flying mounts are 60% speed. And we get 225 riding skill for free. Buying a flying mount is pointless, though not that costly (I think only like 90g), if it's like regular mounts. The training (for epic ground mounts) is the expensive part, the mounts themselves are cheap

Yes, normal flying mounts are only 60% increase now. I think they were 100% early in beta, but I could be wrong.

I'll edit my post.
