Am I correct in thinking this rating increases by 5 with every level and that this is what increases or scales our weapons base dps in forms?

It does not increase the base dps of our paws. What it does do is increase our "virtual level vs higher level mobs" while at the same time slightly increasing our crit chance.

Basically +to feral combat skill means that you will hit more and crit more. It does NOT increase the base 55 dps or so of a cat druid (or bear for that matter) It is +hit rating and +crit rating wrapped into one stat.

It will be important in heroic instances and 25 man raids when mobs are all 71-73 especially considering there aren't any talents in the feral tree that increase our chances to hit with melee. Don't even talk to me about the imp faerie fire in the Balance tree, that is a waste of points and unusable in feral anyway.

So this is comparable to + weapon skill then....+5 swords, maces, daggers, etc....?
