Today, Blizzard announced a new expansion (http://www.blizzard.com/press/070803-2.shtml) for World of Warcraft at BlizzCon.

Highlights of the expansion include a new class (Death Knights), a new profession (inscribing), a level 80 cap, and a new continent (Northrend).

Just like when TBC was released I'm going to have to think about what I plan on doing until then. I probably am not the only one who's just lost quite a bit of motivation to raid at the moment. Thinking of maybe leveling a couple of my alts to 70 to be prepared for WotLK.

If you think that way you can write off raiding completely.

Blizz wants to bring out an expansion every year and they all will work the same way.

I'd say: do not raid for items.... collect items in order to raid. Just to see the content, have a fun evening and kill some new bosses.

I dont know about you guys but I cant wait what blizzard has in store for last talent tree skills for druids.

Won't everyone need an epic mount in the expansion??I thought I read somewhere that the first few zones don't allow flying at all.....

aybe it will all be underwater and we'll need water mounts.:banghead:

If you've seen the previews of the two first zones, it's definitely NOT underwater. That's one thing you shouldn't expect to see in Northrend.

Not sure about no flying mounts allowed in the first few...Would be a tad difficult to make it so you can't use it in certain zones (especially if you're already flying and happen to zone into it) without having consequences like auto-dismount in midair =/

@ Blizzcon it was said that flying will be allowed in Northrend, it was just not enabled as of that build.

I heard over the weekend that flying was going to be disabled in the new zones until a char reaches a certain level, because Blizzard was unhappy how much Outland content was 'skipped' as soon as chars got flight form or a flying mount.

Just a rumor, YMMV.
