It is being released TODAY at 10:00am (GMT -7).
That's 18:00 for the UK.
I am finding the buildup to the release more exciting than I thought I would....i must be some sort of geek :S

Their website got pretty hammered... looks like it took them a couple extra hours to get it up there.

The website totally failed for the first hour. The record breaking attempt began once they actually got started, and they clocked up 8 million unique downloads in the first 24 hours, setting a world record. (to be fair, it was the first properly recorded mass-downloading record attempt thing ever, so they would have won it regardless of the number of downloads).


Hurray for open source !
