View Full Forums : Blizzard Authenticator announced
Blizzard has announced a keyfob authenticator (http://www.blizzard.com/us/press/080626-auth.html) for added World of Warcraft security. After purchasing the authenticator and linking it to your account, anyone logging in would need to supply the code generated by the authenticator, in addition to password, to log in.
This is intended to increase the security of your account, presumably due to all the account hacking recently.

I like it. I'll get one as soon as they are available. I live in fear of my account being hijacked all the time (I change my password monthly) since there have been so many key loggers, etc. found on add-on sites.

interesting idea.
anticipated cost ? (cant see site via firewall)
also what happens if you lose/break the keyfob ?
$6.50
If you lose it, you call Blizzard support and play 20 questions.

It sounds like it is basically a SecurID (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecurID) device. We have used them at work for years to access VPN/email.

Big Bear Butt has a few more details including pics and documentation from the device manufacture (it is not a RSA SecurID token but it is very similar)...

You can now purchase the device from the Blizzard's US site. $6.94 after taxes. Ground shipping is free.
I'll report back once I get mine.

did you manage to get one ?
when i looked a while ago on the EU sitethey were listed as sold out....
I did note that BBB got his and reports favourably on it....
I got one. They come with a number on back. You enter that in at the account management page, and then the next time you log into the website or WoW, you enter your password, then your authenticator #.
