In feral form you're assumed to have max weapon skill.

Weapon damage makes NO difference on the damage we do with our paws.

If you want to level weapon skill to 350 by beating on things with a mace / staff etc you can, but it won't have any effect while in forms. The only thing weapon skill effects is when you actually hit something with a weapon.

Which can be helpful if you are healing and need to knock down a totem or something really quick.

Although weapon damage does nothing for us, it should be mentioned that the crit component of Adamantite Weighstone (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28421) has been shown to affect Feral Druid crit chance in cat and bear form. We don't benefit from the +weapon damage component in our forms, though. That doesn't bother me personally and I always use stones during raids and also pvp - they are nice because they persist through death. :>

Damn! That's another slot I'll need in inventory now for weightstones. Maybe I don't "need" 6 different type of food however... :ohwell:
