Allakhazam have a profiling system that you can automatically update by running their WoWreader software as you play - see here (http://wow.allakhazam.com/Wowreader.html).

Thottbot have something similar, but I've not managed to find any clear instructions for it yet, so haven't played with it. See here (http://www.thottbot.com).

Hope this helps!

Hugs,
Tiniane.

In addition to those, Magelo itself is actually planning on a WoW version. Knowing how few people they have though, it'll probably be a while.

Magelo roadmap
[User]
During the last three years Magelo imposed itself as the most popular character profile manager for Everquest. Our success is due to your fidelity and trust in our services, and for that, on behalf of all the Magelo team, I would like to thank you all sincerely.

During these few years Magelo became bigger and bigger to a point where we never thought we would reach when the first profile was created ;)

To sum it up in a few numbers, nowadays, Magelo is:

- More than 560’000 profiles managed
- More than 34’000 items in our database
- Around 430 Go of compressed input/output data per month
- About 190’000 profiles viewed per day, that’s 2 profiles displayed per seconds!

All, I can say is…wow!

Such enthusiasm gave us the will to pursue the adventure and take new challenges. In this perspective I am very pleased to announce the forthcoming of Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft channels for Magelo.

Our goal is to provide the best tools possible for the online gaming community and we will do all we can to reach this objective.

We will soon provide you with further information on the features and the releases date of both new channels.

Meanwhile, Everquest will not be forgotten, far from it. We’re coming up with a major revamp of our website, updater, new cool features and other goodies. As always, your opinion does matter and if you feel like you miss a feature, please don’t be shy, use our forum to post your suggestions. Any new ideas will be studied with care.

Stay tuned !

Nice. I might have to go back to Magelo a few times now. I think I still have my Advisor status with them, too. :lol

Considering Magelo is stolen code, I'll be impressed if they can get it to work :P

I'd just stick with Thottbot =-p And go the whole way, and get Cosmos too. It's a great UI mod.

Speaking of Thottbot... anyone had problems getting it to update your profile? It used to work fine, but it has refused to update my profile since I hit level 23 or so. It still uploads items and other info, but it won't touch my profile. I've tried several things but none seem to work. :P

Yeah....not updating for me either.

Thottbot still has bugs and it's not very stable. There's been countless times when the server as just been unavailable. Doesn't suprise me too much to hear problems with the character profiles. Don't get me wrong, it's a great site, but it's not very stable; not like Lucy was.

And Storm, what do you mean by stolen code? As far as I remember, there is no other website that I know of that runs in such a fassion as Magelo. Magelo is the first site I've seen that just downright requires the HTTP_REFFERER variable to set correctly in order to just view the site (security feature part of the whole "Magelo Community" thing they were working on so long ago, but never got completed).

Greetings,

This is my first post but I recently came across another character site, similar to Magelo...

http://www.wowrankings.com/

Does anyone have any input on their site/application? I used it during Beta and it seemed nice to me.

Re: Thottbot...

I solved my own problem and got my profile to update again. It seems they changed something, and only Cosmos alpha will upload profiles at the minute. The beta version doesn't work.

cosmos isn't currently releasing anything new as a beta, everything is either alpha, or release, and since they're not ready for release yet, everything is alpha.

I still don't use cosmos and am still waiting a response from thott on adding thottbot functionality to my UI

Ah, well it looks like the Thottbot site is simply bogged down, hence the slow updates. From his site:

Profile delays
Posted by Thott <Afterlife> on 2004-12-08 23:22:59
When data is uploaded to Thottbot, it's placed in a queue and processed as fast as possible. During beta, data was processed within seconds.

Now so much data is being uploaded that the import engine is 60 hours behind. As a temporary measure, target profiles are being discarded by the engine, and it is slowly catching up. Even so, it will likely be days before profile updates happen quickly.
