Hey everyone. I have spent the last couple nights grinding away at the levels, and I have to say... BORING!

Besides getting a guild-group and running an instance, what do you guys do to allieviate the bordem of leveling? I mean, some of the quests are pretty cool, but most of them involve "finding X NPC" or "killing Y mobs." They're basically just another form of grinding.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun in general (else I wouldnt be playing wow), but I'm interested to hear what other people do when the 'grind' has got them down.

PS.. I'm on a PvE server... so I can't go hunt level 1 orc players (not that I would anyway).

Tradeskills
Fishing
Strange and/or unusual quests (like the Thunderbrew flask one for alliance)
Quests that don't involve killing
Exploring different zones (Eastern plaguelands at 50 was fun :P)
Alt characters
And, you already mentioned it, but instances can be a nice change of pace

Exactly what Yrys said, when I get tired of killing things, I find quest that involve running someone's errands, or doing tradeskills. Listening to the constant chatter in the general - ironforge channel keeps my mind busy while killing mobs too.

READ! There's some interesting stories, and they're all different. ;)

Explorer! That's the number one way to keep it fresh. Visit all the zones, find all the flight paths, etc.

And as Yrys suggested, work on your tradeskills, depending on what your picked.

I've done all these suggestions (get a good group in SM if you intend to read :) there's a LOT of cool books in there).

To add to that, bank all your items except some throw away clothes (or not) and find interesting places to jump off of :)

This is why I chose a PvP server. When you get bored just lvling, go find some horde, and go at em. Or maybe join a "raid" of an enemy town. Many options that way.

Move around and look for other experience areas, there are alot of quests that aren't necessarily in the "best" zones for xx level. Go solo a lower level instance, or run a group of lower levels through one. Go back and do some of those elite quests that you never got around to doing or didn't have a group to complete at the proper level.

Good suggestions all around. Although I'm squeamish to join pickup groups for instances (i've had far too many "bad" groups), I typically always go for it when guildies are up.

Kudos to Crimson13 for the most original suggestion!

To add to that, bank all your items except some throw away clothes (or not) and find interesting places to jump off of :)

hehe. I used to do that in EQ, believe it or not. Atleast in WoW you can't de-level from doing this kind of stuff. (Altho jumping off the Spires in Faydark was -too- much fun :))

I do have a gnome mage alt, but considering the amt of time i've invested in my druid... it just feels wrong to play another char. Plus, i really like the druid.

I guess I'll just log in and explore some. Take a break from the grind for a little. I have my skinning at about 200 and my leatherworking at 140-ish, so i should probably work on that a little.

Thanks for suggestions, and keep 'em coming if you want!

Remember that discovering new areas gives you small amounts of exp, and it fills out your maps. I banked all my gear and just went exploring one day on my mount all over Azeroth, and was able to get all the Windrider points in the Badlands, Swamp of Sorrows, etc. etc.

No, Faydark sucked, Dreadlands was where it was at. The DL spires made the Faydark spires look like toothpicks.

When I get tired of grinding, or when my quest book fills up with nothing but (elite) quests, I usually go back to herb/alch. For some reason, flowers only grow around 230948324 mobs, so when I try to get my herb stock back up to snuff, I usually end up getting lots of exp in the process.

I've had fun exploring things, I have about 1/2 of Eastern Plaguelands explored at lvl 33.

LoL got some wierd looks from the people there while I was doing it also.
