Tom Chilton at E3 mentioned that Druids lack "punch" in PvP to gamespy.com:

"Druids as a class take a lot more patience to really be effective in PvP." He said. "But in watching how the Druid is actually played in PvP, we realize now that we need to do something to improve the Druid's punch."

Unfortunately Warlocks are their current priority...

You can find the quote here (http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/world-of-warcraft/617414p1.html).

Shamans get me every time. I hate those little totems.

I hope Blizzard give us some PvP love soon but in all fairness the Warlocks are in desperate need.

The warlock is pretty formidible and has some crazy cool stuff and abilities and they are never alone(if they are smart) because of their pet... druids however do need some help.. we are versitile but at the same time taking on more than one thing (i am writing this as a 26 night elf druid) at a time around the same level is tough and if the other guy has a jump can be fatal... i dont know of too many pvp horde that are my level that travel to where i am i am usually raiding with ALOT of other people and we fight mainly higher level stuff...

Warlocks are possibly the most powerful pvp class in mass combat. Certainly on my server the top ranked pvpers are warlocks, the issue to adress isnt that they arent powerful. Its that warlocks are overly complicated to play well in pvp.
The issue of giving the druid more punch comes as a surprise to me. Yes we lack damage output of a high nature without burning serious mana but.... actually there is no but, roll on the patch.
