I am just curious if anyone uses this Joystick? If so how do you find it, is it useful for playing WoW?

What layout do you use for it and what sort of Macro's have you set up for this Joystick?

The reason I ask is a friend of mine gave me one and I am thinking it could be good for WoW specially a druid but am not too sure how to set the thing up etc.

Cheers,

Grenthor

I've been using mine since beta and I don't think I could play without it.

My current set up has the first two rows used to activate my main hotbuttons in wow with the four remaining buttons on the bottom row used for shifts. Then if I press and hold the button next to the shift lights it changes to red mode and that mode contains my targeting keys for myself and group members and any extra spells/abilities that are situational or too important to accidentally press. Outside of that I use the d-pad to move my character, the button next to it to toggle attack and the wheel to control various targeting commands (down to activate my assist macro, up to scroll through nearest targets).

Overall I enjoy the pad a lot, it will take a while to get used to but if you start it early by the time you finish leveling up you should have a pretty good grasp of using it. I almost never use my keyboard outside of typing messages these days.

Thanks Zimp was thinking a similiar type of config do you know how to set up macro's for the button's. it would be nice to use this function also I do not think this is outside the EULA?

It would just be doing a similiar thing to the in game macro's that are already present through scripting.

For the shapeshifts you can use the ctrl-f# key combos to trigger them. Just make a macro named Bear for example that presses the Ctrl key, then presses the F1 key and releases both. Then put all your main abilities in your first hotbutton page and bind the number keys to the buttons on your keypad respectively. This should fill up all the main buttons in the first (normal) mode. Now to configure the next mode click the button at the top of the config window to change to whichever mode you want. If you want to do a config similar to mine you then bind the top 5 keys to F1-F5 and then use the remaining keys for any abilities you use but couldnt fit in the first mode. This part is a little trickier since we used most-all of the slots in your first hotbutton page. To do this you will have to make a macro for each ability that will shift hotbutton pages, activate the ability and then shift back to your main hotbutton page. Thankfully the wow interface is extremely responsive and you probably wont have to tinker with delays or anything to get this working. Small details aside thats how I basically set up my current configuration.

As for going against the EULA I typically follow one guideline: as long as I'm not performing any actions that allow me to leave my keyboard and my character will still do things then I'm not going against the EULA.

I used it for 2-boxing.

I play the rogue primary and the druid with the left hand.

Have macros set up to target the rogue, /follow,assist, moonfire, faerie, bear, etc.

Have the mouse wheel set up for blue-rejuv (roll up) on blue the trigger button is F1+Innervate, green-HT (push) on green the trigger button is NS, red-regrowth (roll down). Then f1-f5 fires a heal to the appropriate party member, it's the dial-a-heal system. Been thinking of revising it a little, but I'm lazy.

It's great for being a more responsive player over all, but it really shines if you're 2-boxing.
