Hi hi, I'm new here. I have 3 druids all on different server. (friends asked me to move to their server to play with them so I did) One is a lvl 35 restro NE druid one is a lvl 49 Tauren Feral Druid and one is a lvl 22 Tauren Restro Druid. ^.^ I have a question or two for some higher lvl feral druids. What do you do to hold agro when your tanking? I was giving the chance to tank twice. Once I tanked all of SM with ease and the other time I tanked ZF and that didn't go so well. Couldn't seem to keep them on me, mostly when there was 4 or more.

Also I was wondering currently I have 2 types of gear, (my inventory takes a punch cause of it) one for when I have to heal with the guild cause they have no one to do it, And one for when I go feral. The feral armor has high agi and somewhat ok Strength and stam. Should I work on splitting that one up? One one for each of my forms. Would that make tanking easier?

For Feral your best bet is to go with STA/AC/AGI or STA/AC/STR, either way, STA should be the primary stat you worry about. If you're tanking, no one should be worried about how much damage you're doing, they should be worried about two things - are you alive and if you are, are you still aggro? STA will keep you alive by increasing your HP, Armor will help you soak up the damage, and then you can worry about STR or AGI to help you with damage.

If you're talking about Feral while soloing, STA/STR (of the Bear) is usually a pretty good choice. (STR increases your overall damage while AGI increases your chances of scoring a crit, so it's almost an even trade off - however AGI also directly affects your AC).

The druid tank's biggest weakness is multi-mob pulls. If you're having to deal with 2+ mobs, make sure that you always use Swipe and Demoralizing Roar whenever they're up. Save your normal Taunt for when the healer or caster throws an especially large spell. Save your Challenging Roar for times when everything attacks the cloth wearers (and you have no other choice).

Your best bet at holding aggro is pulling the group yourself and having everyone wait a few seconds so you establish aggro throughout the group of mobs.

ok thanks I will look into getting more high stam gear for my Feral druid. Do you guys also have 2 and 3 different types of armor? Cause I was talking to other druids and they only have 1 type. That seems kinda odd to me.

I carry two sets of gear. One specifically for Feral (Str/Stam) and the other is for Healing in Parties (Int/Stam). A good way to hold Aggro is to Demoralizing Roar, since pulling will usually get them all on you first, I do that so that I tag them all with a debuff and then use Swipe (i forget how many mobs it hits at the same time). Then when one gets pulled off you, just taunt them, if things look bad use Challenging Roar to pull them all to you and hope you can survive. Most groups though should have an off-tank incase this happens anyway, and good CC (traps, sheep, sap) to minimize the number of mobs on you.

While I was levelling up, I only had one set of armour. I did briefly start a second set, but to be honest I found it difficult enough having my armour keep pace with my levels. What I concentrated on when levelling up was AC and keeping a balance of other stats to give me more options.

I'm only level 50, but have now started to put together 2 sets, but I still get the feeling that I'm runnning an up-hill race trying to do this, however I have now started doing more instances with my guild, and usually find that I am the lowest level there so need all the help I can on Int & Spi to keep up with the healing.

One of the best ways to regain agro when things go bad is to pop out of bear and do a quick heal or two.

I didn't start to collect a second or third set of armor until i was 55+. It's expensive enough to keep up with one set before then. Playing with rested bonus makes things more expensive too, because you don't spend as much time at each level. Once you get close to 60, you know you can use the stuff forever, so it makes more sense spend time collecting for you your secondary roles.

You don't have to focus on getting specific set gear until closer to end game, but you can still collect gear as you level. What I mean is, while you are out grinding/questing, if you happen to come across items with str or agi on them, or int or spi, keep them instead of selling them. You will probably not have complete "healer" or "tank" or "cat" sets, but at least you will have items to enhance each role. Obviously you don't have do this to still remain effective, but it can help. As stated countless times before: it all depends on how you play and how comfortable you are with your char.

Hmm, as I have approached end level, I've been trying to phase out my 2nd set of gear. Once I get my full Wildheart set I intend on wearing it until I get epic/BG's peices. Although at this time Im still packing around my feral gear until I finish my Wildheart set.

ok thanks guess it helped alot ^.^. Also I tried some of the stuff you said about tanking and it worked great. Everyone now when I was tanking 3 51 elite mobs one would slip away but I would get him back and all would be well. Thanks for the advice.
