Everyone's had bad group experiences. I thought it would be interesting to share more positive ones, especially with non-traditional groups. I have a few:

1. 15-man UBRS:
Was doing an attunement run just after BWL went live. Surprisingly, no guild rogues wanted to join us. We went with 4-5 warriors. Until we got to the Beast, we had practically 0 deaths. Mobs would get down to 20, then 19 percent health, then multiple warriors would execute and the mob would be instantly dead.

2. DM West:
Me, Priest, Mage, Warlock, Shaman. Started with me tanking. Worked fairly well most of the time. First attempt on Immol'thar we got him off the platform, he evade bugged and regend to full health from 20 percent. Second time we had shaman tank with both me and Priest healing. 58 Mage did an excellent job on eyes. Immol'thar down, and Prince was a joke.

3. DM North Tribute:
Me, Shaman, Shaman, Hunter, Mage. Dual shammy tanks. Was annoying at first as the less well geared shaman would earthshock and agro (on melee mobs). Things got better as we went along. Surprisingly, the 60 shaman was able to tank King Groddok. Hunter pulled agro early somehow and died with King at > 50 pct health. Had I taken the time/mana to Combat Rez, we would've wiped. It was very, very close but the King went down. Too bad we had no engineers/smiths/rogues and had to kill Moldar for the key.

For sure, shaman aren't going to tank UBRS captains (for very long heh), but if they have decent HP, you time your heals with Mortal Strike in mind, they can do great things.

I'm interested in others' experiences without a warrior as tank. Do pallys step in on alliance side? Can they?

I have had some pretty good non-traditional group experiences also. We did most of BRD 5 man with 2 priests, a rogue, and a hunter with me tanking in my fire resist gear. But my favorite is me main healing with a rogue, mage/warlock, warrior, and shammie.

I took down the princess with 4 hunters last night. I'm just a hair away from starting a hunter alt.
