What are you aiming for with this build? I noticed the lack of Innervate and Nature's Swiftness (two of the best Restoration talents), and it seems strange to go down the Feral path with OoC...

Edit: Also, Improved Tranquility is pretty useless now with Barkskin. Just hit that before you hit Tranq.

I'm guessing it's a PvP build. Points on Improved Tangling Roots, Nature's Swiftness and the quick casting heals hint at that. If so I can't see the benefit Subltety. Other comments I agree with Yrys.

My opinion:

33 points in Restoration without getting Nature's Swiftness and Innervate is insane.

OoC - is nice for soloing lower level mobs in caster form, reduces downtime to 0. Other than that, it has little purpose.

Putting anything in Feral Tree and not putting 11 in for Feral Charge is also odd. It's the best 11 point talent druids have available.

ditto on bovus' comments, and i would like to add that the 3 points in improved entangling roots would be better spent elsewhere once you have nature's swiftness for an insta-root. if you enjoy feral but also want to be a decent healer, you ought to base your talent points on acquiring at least feral charge and nature's swiftness, then go from there. swiftshifting would be a better complement to feral talents than any other balance tree talents.

Edit: I have a 7/11/33 build: maxed nature's grasp and reach, feral charge, nature's swiftness and innervate. 33 pts allows you to be the best healer the druid can be talent wise, if you put them in IMotW(5), nature's focus(5), gift of nature(1), improved healing touch(5), improved rejuvenation(5), improved regrowth(5), intensity? - combat mana regen (5), nature's swiftness, and innervate.

Of all the builds I've had, my favorite has to be this one at 9/11/31. It is great for instance healer role and extremely effective in PvP:

Balance Talents (9 points)
** Nature's Grasp - 1/1 point
** Improved Nature's Grasp - 4/4 points
** Nature's Reach - 2/2 points
** Swiftshifting - 2/3 points

Feral Combat Talents (11 points)
** Ferocity - 5/5 points
** Improved Bash - 2/2 points
** Sharpened Claws - 3/5 points
** Feral Charge - 1/1 point

Restoration Talents (31 points)
** Furor - 5/5 points
** Improved Mark of the Wild - 2/5 points
** Nature's Focus - 5/5 points
** Improved Enrage - 2/2 points
** Gift of Nature - 1/1 point
** Reflection - 5/5 points
** Improved Rejuvenation - 4/5 points
** Nature's Swiftness - 1/1 point
** Improved Regrowth - 5/5 points
** Innervate - 1/1 point

I have a very similar build - identical except for a few Rest talents - on the test server atm. While I will miss Imp Rejuv very much, having Feral Charge and Furor is a lot of fun.

As soon as they remove the ability for shaman to purge our buffs, I'll consider getting Imp MotW again. I've had it in several builds; it's great for raids, but it's a waste of points if you are alliance and pvp. The only reaon I put two points in there is because it was better than the alternatives to get the 15 points necessary to open up Reflection.

No druid should ever spend have:

Improved Tranquility - 2/2 points

They pretty much nulified that talent when they put in barkskin

Maybe if they would change it to like, i would be slightly better =)
1 points = 2.5 mins off cooldown
2 points = 5 mins off cooldown

Gift of the Wild makes up for it.

it was my understanding that the restoration talent improved both MotW and GotW, so the buff would be weaker regardless of whether it was mark or gift. anyone care to confirm/deny this?

Well, I stated that because I specced for Imp MotW 5/5. When I got GotW Book 1, and applied it, MotW and GotW had the EXACT same stat bonuses, and I had assumed that Imp MotW does NOT apply to GotW. I had assumed the same is true for the level 60 Rank MotW and GotW Book 2.

It didn't make sense to me that they'd give you a Buff you had to farm for (or buy), spec for it to be improved, but gave the same stats as a trained ability, and additionally required a reagent. OK, so it lasts an 1/2 hour longer and you can buff the entire group at once. Big Deal.

Perhaps I went out on a limb and assumed that Blizzard would make some logical sense? :)

GotW does get effected by Imp MotW. The extra half hour and buffing an entire group really helps in raids. Buffing 40 members every 30 minutes can get tedious, and mana intensive, and annoying. Being able to do groups, half as often is just nice.

I didn't mean to discount the value of GotW. It is nice. I was just saying that it doesn't make sense, to me, that the stat bonuses would be the same for both.

Shouldn't there be an added advantage in getting the books where I can now respec to have 5 points I can place elsewhere in the Restoration Tree? Of course, now that I think about it, that doesn't make sense either.

I'll shut up now. :ange:

I still think you are confused....Imp MOTW works on both MOTW and GOTW...

Or Maybe you have confused me about your ramblings...who knows lol

Gift is just a time saver, nothing more =)
