Level 56 druid here and I never get more than 340-380 hits with ferocious bite except on rare critical hits. I'm talking about when I have a full slate of combo points and it should be doing much more damage. Oftentimes I even wait for the energy bar to fill up before I hit it to get that extra damage from the excess energy.

What am I doing wrong? Some of it might be blocked but I find it hard to believe that every mob is blocking the same amount, and I usually am fighting things around my level, not red-cons.

The AC of the mob reduces the damage significantly.

I think 1.7 will make it a lot better. Currently, I never use it because of the same results that you have mentioned.

strange.. i crit at 1k (not much, but im not a mage) very often. Even with healer gear on.

yeah the armor of the mob really does take a lot off the damage...i do the same, 5 combo points/full energy = 380-420

It would be nice to get the 500/600 that is advertised on the spell...i guess on cloth wearers you'd get way closer to that mark. maybe 1.8 will beef it up, give us a sweet finishing move, sumthing similar to the pallys new spell in 1.7.

does hitting them with FF 1st have much effect in the results here?
