How do you get special tags?

What do you mean by special tags? Board titles? Or BBcode like using bold or whatever?

Titles.

Titles are based on your post amounts. I'm not sure of the specific levels. As for the tags that say moderator or admin we are volunteers that assist Sobe with the Various TDG boards. TDG supporter tags are given to those that contribute and help us keep the grove privatly owned.

Is this a public board?

It's public in that anyone who follows the posting rules can post on it, and anyone can read it. I think what Ndainye meant, is that the donations help keep us ad-free, and ensure we don't have to sell our souls to IGE to keep running or anything. ;)

How would I go about recieving a title "Alliance Member" ?

On the top is a link that says "User CP". Click there, then choose user control panel from the box that pops up. Once that page loads, choose the groups option on the left side. You can join the Alliance group there, and then have that added as an Avatar Title instead of the Board_Newb_xx message. I kinda prefer that one though, as it levels with your contributions instead of remaining static.

Can you change it back a post before you get the title that comes with posts?
