View Full Forums : Question about how percentages work in WoW

Specifically what I mean is this: I have PvP gear that says the set adds 15% to speed in bear, travel, cat forms. Now is that 15% just added on top, or is it and extra 15% of whatever speed the form normally travels at.

For example, to be specific, travel form adds 40% speed. Do I now travel at 55%? Or is it 40% + (15% of 40%) which is 46%?

Mods: wasn't sure what section to post this in, move if necessary, np.

I'm pretty certain that your run speed in travel form is 46%. I've seen the math done but I'm not positive atm how exactly it works.

Just get MonkeySpeed addon. It shows the relative runspeeds to normal movement. The way it works is this:

Normal run speed is assumed to be 100%, anything on top of that is 100%+X where X = movement increase amount. So 40% to speed is 140% of normal movement speed etc etc

Spirit of the Cheetah is 30
Feline Swiftness is 30
Travel Form is 40
Ghost Wolf is 40
Normal Mounts are 60
Epic mounts are 100

You can get minor speed enchantment on boots (8% I think) but that does not affect travel form or feline swiftness (I'm not positive about feline swiftness but pretty sure). From what I'm told, it DOES stack with Ghost wolf form, which is stupid if it doesn't stack for us. That is just rumour I hear though, I have not tested it myself, my shaman is still level 18.

The minor-speed effect from the Defilers boots doesn't work with feline swiftness.

According to monkey speed.

With PvP armor -

Travel = 161%
Bear/cat = 115%
Cat with Feline Swiftness= 149% (Dash is 184%)
Stealthed with Feline = 105%

Still make you wonder a bit how the %'s are applied.

Thanks for the replies but I am mainly concerned with how different speed boosts are applied, the ones that stacked.

Travel form while wearing the PVP 15% bonus feels like 55%, it feels almost as fast as a regular mount.

I don't use any Mods, both because I"m not sure how to and am extremely wary of viruses/spyware and all that.

Just as a note, Warfur -- you can't get viruses and spyware from addons, they're simply Lua script files. However, don't run any exe/com/bat files that come with the addons.
