Pandas would just further the faction imbalance. There's already not enough horde. We don't need a new race for alliance that will become really popular, alliance is too popular now.

There will be a new alliance race, so if you were thinking just giving the Horde blood elves would balance it out, forget it. I also want to see Pandas, and I think they seem much more likely than Dranei, I don't think Bliz would base only one factions race in Outland.

Whatever the new race, i pray (and i'm not religious) that it isn't Dranei, what a horrible horrible race.

Pandaren would be great IMO, and I do hope it's them, but i honestly expect to be disappointed on the alliance race.

As I understand it, reasoning behind not having Pandarens as an in-game character is Chinese (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) culture. They have a law against anything that depicts violence against pandas. Believe me, as a druid, I will be all up in the n00bie areas with my ?? tauren anus if there are some pandas, doing all kinds of malicious and bad-for-underage-eyes things to them.:lmao:

It's been virtually confirmed that it won't be pandas (the guy said "hint: it's not pandas") in one of the gaming magazines previewing it, so that's out. Odds are now on Dranei but I would be happy with a surprise that we didn't expect.

Half Elves or Barbarians maybe? Not pandas that's for sure, isn't going to happen.

Half elves or barbarians seem unlikely -- Blizzard always tries to stick to its lore. I'd more expect a totally foreign race (something from the Outlands) than a native to Azeroth race.

maybe its something like... the Nerubians? I dunna im just speculating.. I'm trying to think of a race in Azeroth, thats known, and would fit well into the war on azeroth theme...
Cant be high elves, cause the High Elves that survived after the slaughter at Quel Thalas renamed themselves to the blood elves, and techinally Sylvanis Windrunner too. I HIGHLY doubt the outlands will be a starting point cause... its the OUTLANDS. Hmmmm... I still think Blood Elves should have been Alliance, but im sure Blizzard has its motives... also! the comment about not having enough horde... Go to the WoW Census and look up my server, Mal'Ganis, theres a 4:1 Horde to Alliance ratio there.... :mad2:

Blood Elves would never rejoin the alliance after WC3, they just don't trust the humans enough. I don't really see a conection to the horde for the Blood Elves though, I think it's just Blizzard blurring lines to give the Horde a "pretty race". But it could be the whole enemy of my enemy is my friend thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bloodelves start at nuetral faction to all Horde similar to the Undead.

Theres a few servers where horde outnumber alliance primarily because large groups of players from other games choose a particular server to all unite on, but for the large part Alliance does outnumber Horde. My server is fairly balanced though I think it's like 1.4:1 Alliance to Horde but Horde is more powerful (PVE and PVP) so the slight imbalance doesn't matter. Coming from Alleria though it's a refreshing change Alleria was/is about 4:1 Alliance to Horde, Horde was hurting alot on the server in the early days, when I played there I pretty much stopped a gawked when I saw Horde just cause they were so rare.

As the magazine's weren't given any information on the new races such a statement would put him in a great deal of hot water.

Also, concerning the rumour of a chinese law that would not permit the use of a depiction of a Panda in a video game, I haven't been able to find any hard facts on this but I'll keep looking.

I'm pro Pandaren in case it wasn't obvious, mostly because any of the other existing options are just horrible.

One thing I gotta ask; Pandas are a playable race in WC3, no? How does China handle that one? Is WC3 just banned completely?

I have no idea how that is handled. What I posted has been the topic on several forums I frequent. Maybe it is banned there. /shrug

all i gotta say is the Draenei are FUGLY, completely and utterly FUGLY for the love of god and all that is holy they better not gimp us w/ that trash.

"Tigons" as somebody called them. They are also rumored but were (somewhat?) debunked by Cadyiem.

And what makes me think fake is that picture is a shaman. You don't expect Blizzard to give the Alliance the shaman class anytime soon.

I know I'm late replying to this thread, but just wanted to answer a question.

In reponse to Crimson, you said you couldn't believe a magazine would have information about the WoW alliance race. It was in the Computer Gaming Monthly magazine, a full 3-4 page look at the new expansion with the creators. Apparently, CGM is a BIG supporter of WoW and Blizzard showed them the new expansion before anyone. They also had alot of new pictures.

Just thought I'd clear that up about the "ie: It will not be Pandas" thing.
