Yeah. Dunno about anyone else, but just recently in my last guild raid in MC, I got to play just like a Druid should be playing. I guess it was just a stroke of luck that we had the perfect raid setup. I was allowed to DPS (my Druid build is a 0/30/21) on the trash mobs and even some bosses (We got all the way to Major Domo). It felt great, I was into the mix with all the melee watching all my crits pop up on screen (to my suprise I got as many as 4 crits in a row through a combination of Normal Attack Crits and then Claw Crits), and when the priest requested aide healing I popped out, backed up and gave the priest time to eat/regen mana (we leapfrogging on the mobs, one down to 50%, then pull the next). And then popped back into Cat for some DPS. When we got to the Core Hound Packs, I dropped into bear when one of the hounds got outta control and dragged him back into the pack. Of course, I understood when the raid leader asked that I stay back and only heal against certain bosses because I contributed better in those situations by supplementing priests on MT's with the other healers.

It felt AWESOME! I don't know why but I just wanted to share my Druid experience in MC with any other Druids who think all raid leaders want you healing only. I never had so much fun on my Druid in a raid than I did that day in MC when I got to freely play all aspects of a Druid while still helping when it came to healing.

Glad you had a good time; question though why do you believe that in order to be a TRUE druid you have to be in feral forms the majority of the time? I would think that a true druid would always be using the forms and skills needed at the moment, which on this occasion may very well have been your feral forms however if on previous occasions the forms and skills that were most needed for you to use were primarily your restoration or balance that in no way made those experiences less TRUE druidish.

You may wish to say you got to do MC the way you wanted to not necessarily the TRUE druid way. I feel extremely Druidish when I'm doing whatever job is required of me using whichever form is best suited for that job, but then that's just me and I didn't become a druid for feral forms but for the full druid package /shrug that's just me though.

Again glad you enjoyed yourself, that's the most important thing.

I don't want to speak for someone else, but I think what he meant was the druid druid way of filling multiple roles, Healer/DPS/Tank when the situation demanded it.

We general have a shortage of warriors on raids. Its not uncommon for the druids to fill in on tanking duties on major badies. Like in domo and such.

I enjoy bouncing around from job to job. Heal some dps some and tank some.

That to me is playing the class in a way i thought it should be when i first started one.

I feel that ultimately the class should just be played how each feels best. What ever makes u happy :)

I think in the end we have the best of it all !!

Hehe, ya as Nyte said. I wasn't advocating that true Druid experience is mostly Feral. I mean't that I was able to compliment nearly every aspect of the raid using one of my forms. And of course I stayed out of Feral to Heal to when necessary (esepcially on Bosses). The experience was so much more fun compared to just sitting back and healing only. The raid leader allowed me to DPS in Cat Form, and I was able to tank the Core Hounds (Packs) when one got loose. I still supplemented Priest healing as well when they requested it/and or I noticed the low mana or too much dmg overall to the group. :)

I fill in whatever is needed with my Druid, and that makes me a druid. Whether its lack of healing, lack of tanks, or lack of DPS I do all 3 well and know when to use each.
