I was wondering if weapon damage, delay, or both affected when attacking in bear form?

It doesn't seem so when I fight, but I may be wrong..

If not.. what does determine damage?

Thanks

Just to clarify.. in Feral forms, you just have to keep your skill maxed with that type of weapon and you're set?

When in feral form, you are considered at max weapon skill, no matter what your weapon skill actually is. You can have weapon skill of 1 and still hit as often and as hard as if you had a weapon skill of 5 times your level.

Also, since you don't gain skill in feral forms, if you ever want to whack/smash/stab stuff you need to actually dedicate some time to meelee fighting in caster form or you end up missing alot when you switch back to caster form.

So weapon damage and delay matter, but your skill level does not, correct?

Thanks

Weapon Delay does not matter. I can't remember exactly what the damage is but I think it too has its own calculations. Bear attack speed is standard at I think 2.5 (not sure) and Cat is standard at 1.0 (sure).

The procs on weapons do not work as well if they are chance on hit etc, "firey, icy, crusader, etc" but chance WHEN hit procs/enchants do, so things that mimic a damage shield or the Maelstrom Deck trinket and other things will work.

The stats will still benefit you though. You will still gain higher AP, Crit%, Dodge% as well as +HP +AC etc...

To clarify -- the damage and speed on your weapon do not matter in feral forms. Your speed (1.0 in cat and 2.5 in bear) and damage (not sure how to calc that) are fixed.

"On Hit" effects on weapons also do not work in feral form. However, any passive or on equip effects do work, as do stat bonuses.

A guildie of mine just got a DEAL on a Warden Staff for me... this thing is a game-changer at my level (44), and will probably never leave my side (I don't know of a better bear form weapon in the game right now). I am VERY lucky =)

Perhaps the mace from AQ.. what was it, 280 attack power in feral forms? That's pretty game-changing.. :)

That much AP really might, although you really don't go bear to kill things quickly. It would just be obscene for cat.

That much AP on one item would free up alot of slots for crit% gear.
