This really isn't meant to be something anyone should actually do, it would take a LOT of fun out of the game. But its more of a trivia type for us that are bored at work.

What do you think the best possible equipment would be that is only available by either crafting, purchasing from vendor, or would drop from mobs a 60 druid can solo. In short what is the best you could do having no contact with other players (including alts). That means you would never join a group/raid, never have a guild, never get items from the AH. You must be 100% self-sufficient. I'm just curious.

I am also interested in this list since I play so little time per day(1-2hrs max) and really dont have teh time to raid /party with anyone. I have a long way to go till I am 60, might get there by expansion, but still interested.

Also on a similar subject what can I solo once I get to the 30s/40s/50s/60s.

I am lvl 23 now

The answer would probably be the PvP gear, either the rank 14 stuff, or if you assume that is unreasonable, the reputation based stuff.

The only thing that really springs to mind is the wild heart boots in LBRS. Mother Smolderweb can be solo'ed with Hibernate/starfire in 10~15mins.

I soloed Hearthsinger for the Songbird Blouse, but changes in 1.7 make's that rather tough... and you'd need to group to get your Strat' key. (technically you can use Seaforium charges if your an engineer and never group for the key, but that'll get pricey fast).

Solo'n templars in Silthius when your 60 can get you Abyssal Leather gear.. basically green 55 boots/gloves with healing, spell damage or melee stats. Belts and Pants take a group and drop from the dukes.. so they're out.

Good BoE 'world drops', like the Feather Moon Headdress or Sash of Mercy really only drop in instances of from Onxyia... I really don't see buying somthing on the AH as a bad thing. You get drops you can't use you sell'm... and buy drops other people can't use... seems like a good deal to me.

No its definitely not a bad thing. I was just bored and started thinking what was the best a person could do if they pretended there weren't any other players in the game. No one to group with, no one to sell to, no one to buy from. Just one person totally alone.

I would say any BoE...if you solo yourself...never party and just grind

(a) you will get drops
(b) you will get vendor trash

and if you pick collecting professions: mining, skinning, herbs

you will have even more money to buy whatever you want.

I'm still working on my solo gear, as sometimes you just want to get away. The frost sabre quest series might be something to do while grinding with a net result of an epic cat not many people have.

Nyte, I think I understand your question now.

But if we assume you are the only character on the whole server, no one to trade or group with, I come back to the PvP set, you would be the High Warlord by default!

Someone in my guild asked a similar question lately that was really "what is the highest soloable instance". If you figure that out you can probably figure out what the best drops you can get are, and then compare them to the best recipe items, checking to make sure that those items don't require recipe drops from instances too high to solo.
