View Full Forums : Thorns, MoTW, GoTW stats issues

Hello I play a 58 tauren druid and just now I noticed that if I cast MoTW Rank 6 I should have armor increase of 324, but when it lands on myself or another player it only gives them the increased stat of 240 armor. It seems as if the buff that lands on the player is a rank and half lower than the rank of the buff being cast. I'll mouse over the MoTW rank 6 and see the 324 armor increase in my spell book, then mouse over another player same level as me and see the MoTW buff state 240 armor increase. Any ideas why this is? Does the same thing with Thorns and GoTW buffs too. Is this a bug or normal and I'm just missing something here? Any one else notice this?

This is just a guess, because its happened to me a couple times. Once you upgrade your spell, did you update the link on your hotkey bar. You may have rank six in the spell book, but the hotkey might be set at rank 4 or something like that. If the mana cost changes to get a better benefit, then the spell will stay, such as HT ranks, but if the skill gets better but retains the same cost then the hotkey will replace itself. Especially at later levels where you are updating 6 or 7 spells at once, its easy to forget to change the hotkey.

Re-read you post, I'm probably wrong if this is happening to GotW and Thorns too.

I've noticed the same thing. I have the improved roar talent (decreases ap) and when I use it, it shows up on their health / mana bar as something like 135, when on my toolbar it shows as a 180 hp reduction. I just take it on faith that the extra 45ap is being reduced, and that blizz is just too busy, or it would be too hard to have all the increases to spells from talents appear on the buffs / debuffs for other players.

As far as i know its only a display bug.
Once you upgrade a spell be using talents (like the spell MOTW) and get a certain % bonus this bonus is not displayed in your buff list, but the correct buff is still applied to you (look at your character sheet).

Hope that helps :)

Its a buff display bug, if you cast imp motw on yourself you will notice that although the buff says only the base stats of motw, the spell says the full amount. Your stats are also modified by the correct amount.

Yeah, I noticed it was a display bug last night by having a druid with IMoTW buff me, then I tried to buff myself with the same rank, and it said that "a more powerful spell is already active".

I didn't actually do the math to make sure that it added up to the correct % increase. I'm placing my faith in Blizz that this works.

simplest, non-math approach is to check if you got 20 or 27 to your resists.

Lol that sounds like math to me! jk. I did get +27 to all my resists. Works just fine.
