Mounts vs. wolf form(s)

I've recently returned to the game, and have historically been a soloer. I got a cheap mount via veteran claims and use it religiously; less aggro from standing, medding while moving and while casting, what is not to like? The slight slow and start delay doesn't seem to bother me, and hunting with a merc I usually prefer to camp for the most part as it is.

Now, the wolf forms, I'm only lvl 66 with few AA's but see some sweet wolf forms coming my way as I level. However, I'm struggling with the question of when would I use them? My impression is people use them, and the upper level black and white wolf look insane, but do druids like myself degress as some point and take on wolf form instead of being on a mount?

I'm mostly curious because I see the station cash mounts, and perhaps one day the casino mount, and drool. However, if I will be putting it on the mantel once I have black and white wolf form I will just resist the temptation and save my cash.

I may have answered this for myself and will note it here. AA white wolf and black wolf are not like our traditional wolf form spells; they are a 2 minute duration if I am reading it correctly. So, they will most definitely not replace a mount for me, but will be a valuable supplement.
